Hi Retiredwarhorses,
My m1097a2 didn't have a brake switch, I bought one and I see the labeled wires on it (75a, 75b and the wire for the tranny). Looking at the list of wires for the HMMWV that someone posted, all I see are numbers and no diagrams as to where the 75a and 75b connect.
could...
It actually turned out to be the driver side hood bumper. Just to test it, I put a thin piece of cardboard there and it stopped. So, I'll need to figure out how to keep the noise stopped forever :-)
I moved the driver seat when it was parked in the garage, I heard some metallic noise... not sure if it was what I heard but I am glad that some of you are saying they're kind of noisy trucks.
I do need to check more places, even if it sounds like its below, it could be coming from above... I guess I need to drive it more to try and track it down... :-/
I did grab most everything down there. I guess to be more accurate it would sound like a medium metal sound. Something like the aluminum body might make. Some creak or random creakiness.
Do these trucks make that kind of noises even if the truck is solid? I don't have any other references to...
Anyone have or know what a creak sound under or around the driver foot well might be? I get a light metallic creaking sound every so often when going over different levels of terrain. I've checked below, steering components and other things seem tight. If I had to guess, to me it sounds like the...
what is the best way to clean the top of the dash to remove all the dust/dirt/gunk so its clean before I paint it? I am sure this truck is like many others when it was received from gov planet... dust/dirt in every nook and cranny. I could do it the military way and just paint over rust and...
I need to properly secure my right rear brake line but the military removed the points where it was secured to the frame. I can't seem to figure out how/where I can secure them from the underside of the truck.
I saw a video where a guy had holes cut in what looks like his bed and was thinking...
Found the leak!
It was oil, right from one of the lines that Mogman mentioned. I tightened it but will probably need to replace the seals. I haven't looked at the TM but I am assuming there's a rubber gasket in there or maybe I need to buy a whole new hose...
Thx, I used brake cleaner then wiped it down as best I could. With limited room, I had limited success but it was better than before. I am sure that I will want to de-grease everything this summer.
Is this fitting supposed to be tight on top of the PS res? I can wiggle it around a bit... could it be sucking in air? This whole machine is a mystery, but at least its not all computerized...
