Page 313-319 of the pdf. Section 4-7 Front wiring harness replacement - seems to describe the process of getting to the headlights to replace wiring, might help also.
Edit: TM 9-2320-289-20 pdf page 297. Is this what you're talking about?

Attached the two pages, saw you were on mobile and it might help. Hope it helps.
Bit of an update:
Didn't expect to go up to the shop yesterday, didn't hear from my friends about meeting up to get back on it. Wasn't mad, the last of the parts I need are still in the mail coming by Fri/Sat.
Got a phonecall as I left work yesterday, it's an emergency - one of my friend's old...
They did it right in front of me when I first dropped them off. The DS was absolutely mint, looked a little rough but put out correctly. The PS alt only put out 40 amps when tested, so he dove into it to figure out why. I didn't ask what they ended up changing out since I got there pretty close...
@Keith_J @ezgn Thank you guys, I'll be getting on it soon - big thanks to @cucvrus for being kind enough to send me some replacement studs I was missing. I've got a few injectors to get out and vacuum lines to put in while I wait. Then it will be valve covers, new injectors and glowplugs this...
Well this helps me a lot haha - I was only finding ones for $120+, cheers.
Edit: I got the $65 dollar one and noticed after I ordered that the same seller has the same part listed for $45 so if anybody else is ordering one double check for the $45 ones first!!
Done recently:
Old engine wiring out and sent to HW with old PS pump to trade for vacuum regulator valve I found broken and hopefully a glow plug harness.
Valve covers and air cleaner taken off and painted black.
Injectors and glowplugs out.
Drilled broken starter bolt out, all good.
Took off...
Hey Kevin,
Where did you happen to get your hood release cable? Mine is frayed pretty bad and I need to replace mine soon too (or I'm going to be in for a very bad time when it finally gives)
That would really help Keith, thank you. No rush - I won't be back in the shop until next weekend probably.
Edit: Keith, pictures would be greatly helpful but aren't necessary - DIVE DIVE figured out that the valve cover bolts are listed in TM 34P Figure 6 - I was looking in TM 20P. Looks like...
Good afternoon SS,
I think I'm messed up with valve cover bolts. Here's 2 pictures of what I've got - 6 studs, 10 short bolts. I had to find a few (3) replacement bolts around the shop that look like they could work.
That's really cool. We make sodium and potassium citrate as well where I work, just branches off the main citric line and gets a heavy dose of sodium/pot hydroxide prior to crystallization.
Heard of "industrial" and "cleaner" uses (apart from food grade going to Coca Cola, etc.) never thought...
Some more from today, she's finally in the garage. With Tom's bike out, my CUCV is the new project priority. No more laying in the mud and getting spiders and bugs all over me hahaha.
It's good to have good friends. Hope y'all are having a fantastic weekend too.
Thanks for the assist today @ezgn
Got some more questions came up while we're looking at everything (and waiting for valve cover and air cleaner paint to dry)
What is this stalk thing at the top of the block in the back? And what is that plug to the right of it (back cylinder driver side...
That's exactly what it is. Thanks ezgn!
Side question: anybody know what kind of socket to get injectors out? Even our big boys in the garage don't fit. Is it specialty?
Morning everybody. Happy Saturday.
We're taking the intake off and valve covet gaskets today and we ran into this:
What is the broken part called? The tubing was all rotted and broke off. It looks fuel related. Gonna need to replace it
