12v conversion - can any "points of failure" be removed?

I'm a little confused. Did the Suburbans and other 12v trucks have issues? Seems like a 12v gear reduction would get the job done.

12v conversion - can any "points of failure" be removed?

Hi guys. I know most are of the opinion to just keep the 24v system instead of converting. I just got my 1009 home and I may need to do a significant amount of rewiring regardless of 12v conversion or keeping it 24v. I'm also 99% sure I will need to rebuild the starter or get a new one...

Hi from Atlanta, GA - Question about runaway starter

A couple of follow-up questions Are those Chinese relays SO bad that they fry the first time? (Hey, sorry. I'm being honest, not trying to be a wisea%#.) Is the previously new starter likely already shot after running for 5 seconds? Why would it short with the key OFF? Thanks for any...

Hi from Atlanta, GA - Question about runaway starter

Hi guys. Thanks to everyone who maintains this site. I've been lurking for a few days reading the FAQs and various topics. I was hoping to be an m1009 owner this week, but it appears I will not be unfortunately. I'd like to relay my experience in case there's something I am overlooking. I...
