    non turbo conversion???

Call me a sicko and love it or hate it but that whistler is worth it's weight in gold to me......I LOVE it! Talk about an attention magnet. That's the FIRST thing local diesel enthusiasts latch onto when my truck pulls up is the whistle. They look at me like I'm nuts when I tell them it's...

    Flasher Problem

Glad to help, Lex_Ordo. I have no idea what brand I have. Here are pics from Erik's of what I have: http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-59523690850641_2120_4082641

    Flasher Problem

That delay you're experiencing is the exact same problem I had recently. I replaced my flasher box and VOILA! Fixed. Got mine at Erik's at an awesome price. Easy fix.

    Cost to build a Bobber

If you do all the grunt work yourself, you can do a bob surprisingly cheap. Shorten the stock bed and stick with the original duals and front tires is THE cheapest way to go. I did mine the first step that way for the cost of a used front Deuce suspension set-up ($250 plus freight), a new rear...

Bought my first Deuce, a bobber from a SS member

I NEVER regretted bobbing mine. It makes me WANT to drive it since maneuvering isn't such an ordeal anymore. HEMTT wheels and 395 XML's all the way! I love mine. :jumpin:

    Big Iron Classic Truck Show

That low-slung Weller Truck Parts hot rod is incredible. It was on Jay Leno's site not long ago. Here it is on the builder's site: Piss'd Off Pete Wonder if Weller bought it? One thing's for sure......an obscene amount of money changed hands on that beauty. What a show. Thanks for the pics!

    bobbed a deuce, original bed

I centered the axle in the newly-shortened bed. This ended up moving the axle back 2 inches. There was PLENTY of splineage in the front driveshaft to accomodate that amount so I went with it. After MANY miles on the bob, no driveshaft issues to report whatsoever.

Cost of getting a good truck?

    WELL PUT! [thumbzup] Excellent advice.

Cost of getting a good truck?

I can say without a doubt that I agree with everyone above. The initial purchase price is but a stepping stone into Deuce ownership. Parts are readily available and reasonable (for the most part) but OH how they add up!!! These big boys are easy to work on, other than the weight of the parts...

    bobbed a deuce, original bed

That's how I built mine...... And I couldn't be more pleased with it. I shortened the frame and bed 3 feet. Shortened the sideboards and troop seats the same (they still work). Any questions? Don't hesitate to PM or e-mail me.

    Jesus Gatos wheel center flip

I found my drag link was adjusted improperly causing a horrible wandering problem that was amplified with the installation of my 395 tires. I took it apart, adjusted it per the maintenance instructions and she's a whole different truck to drive now! It's not that my ball-and-sockets were worn...

Does bobbing a deuce gain feul economy?

I can't vouch for an MPG improvement from lockouts BUT the improved driveability is worth every penny.

Does bobbing a deuce gain feul economy?

rwbrown72, you hit the nail on the head. Let's all take a deep breath and absorb what we're asking here...... These are toys for most and daily driver for few. If you're going to use it for inclement weather only why is MPG a concern? It's not like the bad weather lingers for weeks. Around...

Does bobbing a deuce gain feul economy?

I second (and third) the statements above. 15 mpg just isn't going to happen without a gearing change. Put 395 tires on it and it'll do 55 at 2100RPM or so......less RPM equals better MPG? Well......in a perfect world. :) I've never pushed my Deuce over 2300 and that's only at shift point...

Does bobbing a deuce gain feul economy?

I have never figured my mileage. I can say, from mucho experience, that a bobber is WORLDS easier to drive. You will WANT to drive it every chance you get. When she needs fuel, she gets it. A LOT of folks ask about MPG when they see the truck and I say, "It's a toy, tons of fun to drive...
