I am trying to hook my M105 to my M1009. The problem i have is the electrical connector will not fit the the one on the truck (it looks like it will fit except for the rubber casing around the plug) any suggestions?
If you are going for something in the CUCv family I would go for an M1009. I have been driving mine as my daily driver and various other weekend/offroad type things for about 7 months with no problems, it goes everywhere i need it too and cost me around $4,000 (you can find them cheaper). any...
OK so my heater stopped working. The low coolant light is on (yes there is coolant in the radiator and reserve) but I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with it. Could it be a fuse and if so where is the fuse box?
Teething problems after 10 yrs? These things need a root canal. The only good things about the LMTV are that is hauls
A$% when needed and the run flat system. Other than that, maintenence is a nightmare unless you actually have it in a shop and the center of gravity is way to high, etc. etc. etc.
Hey all,
My M1009 started having what I thought were some transmission problems last week. It felt like the rear was dragging or having a problem getting going and then it started slipping a little after that but only on starting off, and once or twice when making a right turn the right...

The D motors had the latest revision gaskets put in WHEN THE ENGINE WAS MADE...
Since D engine production has stopped, there is a new "latest & greatest" gasket out there now. Has the rubber embedded in it in an outline arround the holes in the gasket. THATS THE ONE YOU WANT.

So I traded a 1953 F100 dump truck for a 1963 M43B1 ambulance last week. after tearing the front of the M43 down I discoved the engine is locked up. (no surprise it sat in a field for 4+ years) So now to my question....What is the engine weight of an M43B1 (M37 ambulance) engine? Since I do...
RE: Re: RE: M43B1
DDoyle, Thanks for the info. Where in the world did you get it from and is there anything else that comes up about that particular truck? once again thanks.
Yeah it's an M43B1, the only plate missing is the one with the year and serial #s (of course) I found on the back above the doors US ARMY 3E 0501 Don't know what those #s are either.
It only squeals when I engage the start electrical switch, and it is starting to burn up one of the belts. but once I turn the switch off with the engine running it is fine. so I guess I may have to get a new one.
Just replaced the generator in my M35 with a takeout from an engine I replaced 2 years ago. It charges the batteries fine but squeals. Any suggestions to correct this?
I need to take the radiator out of my M1009 to get a hole plugged. Anything special I need to know about pulling it? (done it on a duece and a honda but this looks a little different) Thanks
Hey all, I will be making a trip from Ft. Bragg, NC to Ft. Benning, GA starting July 15th. I am putting an M105A2 in the back of my M35A2 and towing my M1009 behind it. Anybody along the way that can help in case I have any problems/breakdowns. (I don't anticipate any, but it never hurts to be...
what are the physical differences between a whistler turbo and a regular turbo? I just picked up an extra turbo for my LDT 465-1C and saw one that looks a little different on a 2 1/2 ton dump.
For on-post lodging go here: http://www.fortbraggmwr.com/lodging.php. Thats odd I've only been in for 7 years as and engineer/musician and have spent 6 of them here at the center of the universe. How did you stay away? It always seems to pull everyone here.
