    General Questions

Has anyone repro'd the plate for the Engine protection system on the dash? Can anyone please post a photo of an original plate? I have a photo of my old FAV dashboard with the engine protection but the words on it have faded so bad I cant even make them out. Thanks.

    Rebuilding FAV #91

Worked on it for a couple hours in the last week. REMOVED THE SEATS, RADIO BASKET AND FUEL TANK TO GET ACCESS TO THE FULL FRAME. Sanded and primed some too. Even a little time is good for the soul!

A little more done this week. I removed the radio basket and fuel tank to get access to the rear frame. If anyone needs photos of anything on the frame now would be the time. Just let me know what you need. Spent a couple hours this week sanding and primering. Working my way to the back.

    General Questions

I looked over the 2 front and rear shocks I have and could not find any stampings on them. The photos I see of new shocks have a part number printed on them but mine have been painted CAMO so no numbers.

    Rebuilding FAV #91

That is so true. When I was restoring Fav #90 I spent a lot of time preparing to do something on it for fear of doing it wrong or damaging it. There wasnt a lot of info on FAVS back then. That was 12 years ago. When I contacted the Fort Lewis Museum and got a few docs from FOIA requests then I...

    Rebuilding FAV #91

The silver looking box in the photo is actually a HID transformer/controller for the headlights that were on it. I already trashed them.

    Rebuilding FAV #91

Yes. I will need a Engine protection panel for sure. I really like your Launcher cover. Great idea. When I had my first FAV on display, everyone would "pop" the rubber covers in. It was like a game to see how quick I could pop them back out before someone else came along and popped them in. I am...
