Installing a Passenger Side Jerry Can Holder on a M35

I didn't even know that they existed  So we did this. It's a step and storage. The hold-down is w/ a wing-nut under the step. It also folds out of the way, onto the fender, so that we can access the batts. I'm afraid of metal straps :-( I want to be able to cut the strap if...

    Passenger step question

This is what we did. Yes it does need painting. It makes for a good step and storage all in one.

    How To: Hub Flip

That's great, that's the first time I've seen safety wiring illustrated clearly. I didn't do the wiring in my photos, my friend that was helping us did it like it had been done by the army mech from it's last overhaul. What you show makes total sense and I'll be sure to use that method in the...

    Primary fuel filter

That is how it was on both the secondary & final. There really is no hole for a cotter pin in this can. The shaft also seems larger (bigger in dia) than the ones on the secondarys (hard to tell for sure as I had already put them back before opening the primary) I did have to use a 1" wrench to...

    Primary fuel filter

So it looks like I need to find another washer and an O-ring that fits the shaft. I have been looking at the TM, "ARMY TM 9-2320-361-24-1" that's why I knew better than to just put it back together the way it was ;-) Another thing that is diff is that the shaft is NOT drilled for a cotter pin.

    Primary fuel filter

Ok, I have one for you. just pulled the primary filter on the 109. The seconds all seemed normal other than the filters were different from what was in there. The primary is really different and I seem to be missing some of the stock parts. The TM calls for a washer, spring, washer, gasket, cup...

    Bigger driver in a Deuce

I'm w/ you on that. Have thought about putting spring clamps on, or cutting part of the spring off (kind of like lowering a coil spring suspension). I do kind of like the "easy" thought of running a cable stop, or two, one on each side.

    Bigger driver in a Deuce

I'm 6', 150 pounds, have my spring seat turned as soft as it will go. . . and still I look at the wiper motor:-| How do you guys light weight get the seat low enough to see out to the horizon?

New to me fuel storage tanks

My WMO tank is black, and I live in the desert. I want it to get hot and cook out the water. It also makes crud drop to the bottom faster. I then have 2 valved outlets on one end, one about 6" above the other. The lower one lets me drain any water & crud out. When I start getting oil I then shut...

    Winch for Deuce?

Thanks, what kind of price does all that add up to? Just wondering what this much of the winch  is worth and how much will it cost me to get the rest of the parts.

    Winch for Deuce?

Hey guys, is this a winch for the Deuce? A friend found it and is willing to sell it to me :D Did some searching, but it's a bit hard to find photos w/o loads of reading

    Leak from the Bellhousing

I agree that leakage from the tranny is NOT the only reason that there can be clutch slippage. Engine oil leakage was not our prob, we've not lost a bit of engine oil since we did our first oil change. What I meant was that if one is leaking GEAR OIL from the tranny, out the bell housing AND the...

    Leak from the Bellhousing

And the winner is . . . Spent yesterday under the rig pulling the tranny out, it had gotten too low and was still leaking after being driven at hyway speeds. Pulled off the cover plate and found, 1) that the cover plate bolts were not tight (enough, by my standards, but not the leak) and that...

    Wolverine Tech Duel Alts

Has anyone put in the Duel Alt kit from Wolverine Tech? Does anyone have a install instruction sheet? Got the kit a little more than two weeks ago, it had a damaged part (the one that pulls air through it(?) ) that I said I would replace if it was sent to me, I also asked for an install...

    Leak from the Bellhousing

Have checked them, not only checked them I took them out and pushed them open from the inside w/ the back-side of a drill bit. Just to make sure that they weren't stuck. We haven't put to many miles on it since I started this thread, w/ the build going on. It does seem to have almost stopped...

Camper M109 - Spacial Transformations style

Now that's a question, . . . no way to tell how far we have to travel on this path. Can tell you some of the things we've done, or have in process. Our target date for starting this trip is the 1st of Aug. For that we were wanting to have certain things done, a bed/lounge, stove w/ propane tank...

Camper M109 - Spacial Transformations style

Bike Rack This is our new profile, had to make some kind of "Bike Rack". Didn't want to increase our already tall clearance needs, and didn't want to figure someway to put our dirtied rides inside . . . so . . . a rack along the same lines as Mr J. Gato's. The main needs were to have a place...

    Gear lube question

I never would have thought of setting it in the sun . . . where we are there's enuff sun to make it burst into flames! No kidding, when we were collecting oil for fuel someone brought me some in a clear plastic container . . . I didn't pour it into the drum that night. The next day the sun...

    Gear lube question

I agree on the pump, I got me one of those as well. I don't agree on the GL-1. After spending way too much time reading about oils & gear lubes last year, I'm of the opinion that Gl-1 is great for the tranny (yellow metals and all) and Gl-5 is more suited to the dif's. Gears work against each...
