I was glad to do it. Actually Chuck didn't give the whole story, however. He spotted my deuce where I had it stored one day and left a note saying that he would be glad to help me work on it. I called him up , we chatted, and he then came over and gave me tips and spent several hours doing...
RE: Re: M109A3 SHOP VAN VIN PLATE
I have an interesting situation that I believe belongs in this thread. Please excuse me if it doesn't and steer me to the correct venue.
I bought a 1985 M35a2 from eBay last month. Carnac graciously provided me with the history here and said it was a...
Here's the info on my "new" vehicle...
M35A2
SN# 0525-15984
Reg# 04L67170
I picked it up in Hooks, Texas.
I bought it this month from an individual via eBay.
I was told it came to him from Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Most of the numbers on the front bumber are faded, but I can make out "90 CR - 304...
Re: RE: service brake operation
Thanks for the kind reply. I believe that is the problem with my new M35a2. I'll report back when I finally get it repaired.

Please excuse me if this is a completely naive question. I have only become reacquainted with the M35's after nearly 40 years and if I ever knew this I have long ago forgotten it. I have also searched the forums and read through the TM's without success. My question is this...
How is the...
Well, I only got my deuce a couple of weeks ago. I have it parked in my driveway at the moment and I don't really care what the neighbors think. They're welcome to a ride anytime or they can get their panties in a wad and miss out. Heck, they might think it's a step up from my British Ferret...
Thanks to the great community of folks here I believe that I will soon have a replacement. I do thoroughly appreciate the effort, though. Maybe I'll be able to reciprocate some time. Kharma and all that, you know...

I did that. I'm afraid it will happen again, though. That's why I'm in the market for another. Funny how the "little" things can disable a vehicle or make it difficult to operate. I found out one time how hard it is to drive a car when the seat back fails.

Ziggy0 PM'd me last night that he had a NOS one. I replied back that I'd take it, but he hasn't responded. If it falls through I'll get in touch.
Thanks,

Friday the gearshifter (the stick) snapped on my M35a2. I was able to get it welded back together and I am now using it. However, I just know that it will break again when I am in a most inconvenient location. I spent several hours yesterday on the phone and online trying to locate a...
Thank you for the kind reply. It seems that the most likely cuplrit is the air-pack with the brake master cylinder/pedal travel misalignment also a possibility. However, I found a link to a PS article which lends even more creedence to the air-pack. The little gremlin says, "Brake fluid...
Re: RE: Brakes dragging
This theory has merit. Only the rearmost driver's side axle had smoke, though. I guess a visual inspection for broken parts, etc. is in order.
Thank you,
mdh
Re: RE: Brakes dragging
Thank you for your reply. You know, I _thought_ the brakes weren't self-adjusting, but this is a 1985 model and I last drove a deuce in 1972 so I thought that maybe they had changed. I really didn't believe that the seller knew even the little I did about these...
I finally bought a "deuce" yesterday. It was only around 180 miles
away and the seller assured me that it was "in great shape" and that he
"wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere".
Sooo... I started on the trip home. Around 60 miles into the trip
it started bogging down. A couple of miles later...
