Search my old posts - I posted some pics from when I converted my old style 5-ton bed to hold the taillights in the rear crosspanel like the newer ISO beds.
The trick I used was determining the shape of the egg-shaped cutout, and transfering it to a piece of 3/4 MDF particleboard. I then...
The remotes aren't that tough to find. Lots of people seem to come across them on surplus. Cut/paste on of my pics from the earlier thread linked farther up this thread, and post a WANTED ad in the resources section. Someone will have one. The tough part is the cable. You will probably...
There's a couple hemtt's out there. Not very many though. I'm not sure where the other's got their's, but I bought mine wrecked on Ebay. You can read all about the restoration of it here -

They're not...
No paint on the shelter yet.... sigh..... I have so much on my list. Yes, the hemtt will be at the Arlington airshow in July, I will be there off and on. I don't have the patience to hang there the whole time, but the hemtt will be.
We had a HUGE (by Everett Washington standards) snowfall this year, and the Boeing factory where I work needed to get the snow off the flightline so we could move planes (specifically the new 787 AKA 7-late-7) to and from the paint hangers. The facilities guys rigged up an old Pratt & whitney...
Not sure about the next event for that club, but I know there will be a big MV gathering at the Arlington Airport in early July at the air show.
I posted a link about it on here earlier with all the info. Search for Arlington airport and you should find it.
I have 4 of them, and would be willing to give you 3, you just need to come get them. I need to keep one on hand, though, because it works great for holding the wheel off the ground when I am mounting/dismounting tires.
They have the same 7/8" bore opening but they are not your average stem. They are a VERY low profile design to clear the brake drums when run on fronts, and they have a stem on both ends so you can reach it fron both sides of the wheel. You can get away with using commercial stems when you...
Yeah, I was kinda worried about that too at first, but it's only 13'6", so it clears everything around here. I talked with the truckers at work, any they drive tall "Empennage" trailers (whatever that means) and they said there isn't anything around that is lower then about 16' in this area...
HAH! I wish it were true.... I have toyed with the idea of a getting a British Chieftain one day, but there is NO WAY I could swing the bucks to have a HET and a tank.... Remember, I am but a lowly security guard....
I am very content with what I have....
uhhh.... Okay with me... I guess.. Just wondering... Nobody wants to go through what I just had to deal with concerning hemtt transmissions. Trust me on that.
:roll::roll::roll:
That's great that someone else got one. I hope it's a member here so we can follow the restoration. I'd love to see what someone else does to with one.
Sure does look like that MAN 8x8 crane cranetruck posted. Isn't there any dataplate or builder info on the crane or outriggers somewhere?
I would call up Grove first and try to make friends with a tech guy and ask if you can email him the pics you have. They seem pretty helpful there from...
