the funny thing is the muffler has made them unecessary around town
btw, i replaced my pair of 49mhz for the peltor powercom plus headsets. wow, a tremendous improvement, which allows you to talk several car lengths apart!
i like the idea, i was never able to find a cheap headset and boom mike though.
its 100 for 2 49mhz ones, or figure 50 for a pair of frs's and cheapest i could find the boom/headset was 200!!! yikes!
i have a friend in tennessee looking at buying a deuce. anyone live there? is registration a problem? i know in some states it gets weird. theres no good information on the web that i can find... im just doing legwork for him
the crane i pulled was a lesson in READING and OBSERVATION
1) always check the manual, in other words dont winch with the truck tied to an oak tree
2) "" "" "", release the drum lock (i did not)
3) always make sure you have a shear pin vs grade 8 bolt (i had grade 8)
what are some options?
im looking at buying a 20' equipment trailer with a pintle. my options are
1) surge brakes
2) electric brakes
3) air brakes
whats anyone elses experiance? i need the trailer to haul my m715, or maybe another vehicle. i know how surge brakes work, but not how well...
i spent ALL day friday working on removing the radiator, flushing the system, and replacing all the hoses. i found a small leak in the bottom. the radiator shop couldnt fix it, so they epoxied it. put it all together and STILL leaked!

ok, after the test drive today i found it is "muted" and did not increase egt's. it didnt seem to affect power, although i run it to redline too easily since the noise is so low now.

very good points. on my m715, after cutting the antenna i can run on the interstate and ive never hit anything, not street lights or anything. the interstate, and all state roads are required to maintain a 14' clearance. so you cut the antenna to 102" then add the 6" spring to that and that...
