Temperature Gauge and Oil Gauge install question

There is a higher-temperature anti-seize that is cheap, costs about 8.00 for a pint. It is good to 1300 degrees F. Slop a little of that on the T-pipe going into the engine and the two openings of the T. Should do the trick, it's always worked for me on over the road (OTR) diesels. Good luck...

    Air Conditioning a Deuce

I have been reading your thread with great interest because I bought two Air Force G-30 box vans used to transport troops and materiel to the flight line. Both are powered by 6.2l diesels and neither has AC so I must do it all from scratch. Needless to say, I'm very interested in your...

    Wrong VIN returned on SF-97.

I still have not gotten my SF 97 even though I just applied yesterday. So they send it in the mail? Curiously enough, in the package of info from GL, they included all the USAF maintenance paperwork and the original title from GM. Maybe I should just use that! Problem is, it wasn't signed.

M37 + mercedes What do you think?

If you want a stick, go get one, the stick from the OM616 engine (your five cylinder is an OM 617) will also work, though a different flywheel available at junkyards and on websites is also available. Clutch is very available as well. Go to the best MB swap forum: www.peachparts.com...

    Wrong VIN returned on SF-97.

Carnac, This is wonderful info. I just sent a SF97 into GL and it had a wrong VIN based on the data plate, so I put that info in the comments and sent it electrocnically but I printed out a paper receipt of the electronic stuff. \ If they hose it up, I'll be calling my Congressman and so I'll...

Just need a little guidance on a 6.2 liter

success with the USAF 1T 6.2 liter We towed the van to my friend's house on a platform, changed the oil, charged the battery and BOOM! started right up. My one concern: the oil pressure level is a little slow to get up to the center point, it sits there for a minute before it moves. I have...

Radiator Flushing with Cascade Dishwashing Detergent?

In the Mercedes mechanic forum of which I am a member, we often use either Dawn or Cascade as a first step, then, depending on personal preference, either vinegar or 10% citric acid in powder, mixed with 1 gallon of tap water, unless you live in the country and use well water, in which case...

    Help needed at Nellis AFB

I have driven in Winter from Detroit, MI to Victorville, CA, then immediately back to northern Michigan, followed by a trip to Washington DC. All between Thanksgiving and early December. Nine days alone on the road, only hit one deer (it ran into my trailer, but the car wasn't on it at that...

    Help needed at Nellis AFB

If I can offer a suggestion: Right now Vegas has a ton of empty RV storage yards. Usually the storage price is 35.00 /month. If you can get someone to tow the vehicle to the storage yard, and pay, say 3 months' rent for a spot (105 bucks), it might take the pressure off. All things...

Just need a little guidance on a 6.2 liter

I never use ether for anything, having found lots of other ways to start diesels on cold days. even the older ones w/o glow plugs can be started using the block heater, a charcoal pan or other means. I do have experience with diesels, just not the 6.2. Every one has particulars, I have found, so...

Won't the HMMWV TM have 6.2 liter engine info? Or is the 6.2 in the HMMWV that different?

Just need a little guidance on a 6.2 liter

I'm waiting to find out if my offer on a Air Force 1 ton cube van 1993, with a 6.2 liter engine is accepted. Can someone please tell me the best manuals to get? It has been suggested I get all the HMMWV TMs, especially TM 9-2320-289-20P . I'm interested in two things at this point: 1. If...

How to Buy from Government Liquidation

I purposely did not bid on a trailer because I wanted to find out from you guys about the End Use Certificate. What is it and why is it needed? It's confusing to me: It is supposed to apply to a sale, but yet it can take 60 days. But you only get 10 days for pick up, and you can't do one in...
