Anybody want to take a guess at these fluid leaks?

Yep, you can do that. But also make sure the tranny isn't overfilled. Sometimes people will fill them through the shift tower (shifter stick removed) and they will accidentally overfill it. How's my old truck doing? Still running strong?

Anybody want to take a guess at these fluid leaks?

I was thinking about those breathers. Wouldn't it be okay to just put a barbed fitting in their place and connect a length of hose to a high point as a place to vent? Maybe stick a little foam filter on the end? Same with the diffs. run a hose up high to vent where water can't get in. Just...

Anybody want to take a guess at these fluid leaks?

Well, I had to rethink whether I should have put that last pic in here. Reason is because I also have a VERY bad leak from the left front of the engine somewhere near the oil pump/filter area. I have yet to pinpoint it, but it is leaking so much oil that it is dripping down onto the front...

Anybody want to take a guess at these fluid leaks?

    here's the last one.

Anybody want to take a guess at these fluid leaks?

First is obviously the left side case of my winch - it started leaking after I bumped the lever down and did the "Oh Crap!" move of reeling in until I sheared the aluminum pin. No damage visible to the bumper or winch otherwise. I didn't see any cracks or bent metal. The next is a nasty littl...

Broke my trailing arm today - Can this be fixed?

It seems like it would be a pain just getting the two pieces back together. Maybe I'll just wait until I get a new one and deal with it only once. I have to start dealing with the oil leak stuff anyway. How could I get it back together, anyhow?

Broke my trailing arm today - Can this be fixed?

Re: RE: Broke my trailing arm today - Can this be fixed? I cannot discuss such unspeakable things....

Broke my trailing arm today - Can this be fixed?

Yeah, I discovered it when I hit my brakes to slow for a turn and had that 4-wheel steering feeling. I drove it back home about 2 miles going about 25 mph and it was fine. I guess this is a good time to take care of some of the fluid control issues I've been having too. Does Memphis...

Broke my trailing arm today - Can this be fixed?

It's gearlube. I know - This truck has all kinds of leaks. It's time to put some time/money into getting some of them under control. Both the rear right side hub seals are shot. Tires are 16-20's. I have lots of pics on here of it.

Broke my trailing arm today - Can this be fixed?

Take a look at these pics - It looks like the rubber bushing torqued out of the trailing arm when I got a little off-axis today while doing.... Well, I think it's best if I don't say what I was doing... Anyway, is it now ruined or can it be fixed? How hard is it to change these out? Where is...

    HEMTT Title needed

I don't know about California, but in Washington it's USUALLY fairly straightforward to get most titling issues handled. I know there are companies that can offer their services for folks who are having difficulty licensing vehicles that the state gives you grief about. I believe the way they...

how do you run a front winch AND a hydraulic pump together?

So I would engage the pto, but keep the winch clutch in neutral up at the winch? When the pump was running the winch driveshaft would be turning? Is it hard to mate pumps up to the pto? Will I need to change out my pto to do this? Lots of questions.... Thanks for the help.

how do you run a front winch AND a hydraulic pump together?

I'm bouncing around the idea of getting a knuckle crane like cranetruck did for my M813. How do I run my front winch AND the hydraulic pump off my pto? Do I have to convert my front winch to hydraulic drive? Any specific cranes I should be looking for? What are the advantages of the HEMTT...

What is the size of the 5-ton hub nut sockets (both)?

I really appreciate it Dave. I had not gotten the right sizes yet. I'm not a huge fan of the hammer and punch method for tightening the inner nut. Where do you think the best place to get these is?

    Intercom/CB radio guys

Call Flightcom at 503-684-8229 and they can get you hooked up. It shouldn't be any big deal - the plugs coming out of the intercom are the headphones and microphone. So you just need to adapt a plug for the speaker on the cb and a plug for the microphone, then put a push-to-talk button on the...

    Intercom/CB radio guys

I use Flightcom, and I know that they will work with a CB. Check their website for schematics. I think I saw some on there. My Flightcom iNova unit came with the two plugs for the 2-way radio hanging out the side of it. I had to open it up and remove them, as they have no use to me. Also...

What is the size of the 5-ton hub nut sockets (both)?

I need to buy a set, and I can't remember what sizes they were. I believe both where 8-sided, right? Any good source for them?

    5 ton lock outs hubs?

I'm getting ready to put a set on my 5-ton as we speak. A buddy of mine is fabbing up the inner spline piece for me. I'll post pics when they're on. I am told they're Warn.

    Super single wheel questions

I'm not sure I understand your question. If you are going to run 16-20's you have to run the 10" wide combat wheels at the minimum. In any case all positions have to be the same diameter = you need 6 combat wheels. They're out there. Start checking locally, you'll find them. I had all 7 of...

Wierd question for those with the newer style light switch..

RE: Wierd question for those with the newer style light swit I've had zero trouble with mine. I think it's the first generation of these that had troubles. Never seen what you're describing. I keep the old one in the glovebox, though.
