    PoofStalk fall 2010

As of 21:45 PoofStalk has offically started with the arrival of Dittle. And sad to say my wife will not be attending as she has gotten the flu and I don't want it so I told her to stay away. I'll be back early morning and staying the night for sure.

My truck the before and during

It's really not a big heater but it sure does heat the back of that truck very well.

My truck the before and during

Looking at the post above I can't get over how ugly that baby diaper brown paint really is. But here are some picks after a little sandblasting by Poof and some rattle cans of Rustoleum. Sorry guys I just can't swing CARC at the moment. I also kicked out the coons, fixed the lights and put...

My truck the before and during

I picked my deuce up at Fort McCoy on August 23rd. She is a great running truck with lots of new mechanicals and sheet metal. So far it's been in one parade and I've put nearly 1300 miles on it since I picked it up. However, the paint was ugly and the roof was rusty so I had to do something...

    PoofStalk fall 2010

Alright some one asked me the question about food and beverage. Here is the simple answer, I am providing chicken and potatoes for Poof to cook, we ask that everyone brings some kind of a side dish to pass about. Beverage is all up to you. If you want to bring your own burgers or brats or...

Heating the back of my deuce

Well I think I am going to try the concrete backer board and see how that works.

Heating the back of my deuce

Well the truck sure isn't air tight. I just fired it up with a few sticks, ok twigs. After the initial burn off the smoke went away from inside the back. Then it got so hot I couldn't stand it back there anymore. There will be no problems for me to stay warm in any weather. Now my only fear...

Heating the back of my deuce

I am going to pretrip the heater tonight using wood. Gotta make sure there are no visible leaks and that nothing near it gets too hot. Will report later how it all goes.

Heating the back of my deuce

I did pick up two 12v electric blankets for camping. My fear is that they will drain the batter quick and then I'm stuck. So I figured this was a much better way to go. That and I can't always leave the truck running so the water type heater wouldn't always work.

Heating the back of my deuce

Well it's all in and the high temp caulk is drying around the stack. Here are some more pics of the install. For those of you who don't know, my truck came with the metal style covering on the back. I decided to keep it for the purpose of a working shop and camping. I used a 4" pvc cap with...

Heating the back of my deuce

So with PoofStalk comming up I figured I might want to plan ahead and stay warm this time. After the MikeInMcCoy Parade, where I froze my tail off that night, I didn't want to do that again. So I picked up a multifuel hunter style heater from DrGreg and got to work installing it into the back...
