JH for vehicle accounting purposes, the 1st Sgt and I are planning on coming with 923's. We are meeting up at exit 109 on I-5 at 0600 for breakfast and will head that way when done. Anyone want to tag along, be there. P
Is your radiator repairable? There is a guy in Chehalis, TNT Radiators that has worked on a couple of mine. He does good work and seems to be reasonably priced. You walk into his shop and he has a single light bulb hanging down and he is soldering away on whatever he is working on. Real old...
Keep your eye on the upcoming event threads. Triple XXX has been on there for a month or better. If something is coming up of interest to the group, put it on the upcoming events. We are getting splintered information by a random post on this thread and that.
Glad you got the truck out. Have been on away missions for the last couple of weeks, but probably could have gotten the 1st Sgt. over there with his 5T. P
Also of anyone is headed up to the triple X on 12 April for the military vehicle car show, we are going to meet at Denny's off exit 109 at...
Turbo you sparked an idea. Someone put a thread in about adding a glove box. For those of us running two batteries, why not put it in the unused space of the battery box? That seems like a project for me later this year.
Mission accomplished. I only got a couple of interior shots and am having some computer issues. Will have to get them up later. We ended up due to weather and various technical reasons and obligations with only tow vehicles. 1943 GPW all kitted out and the 84 M923. People did get a kick out...
They were setting some stuff up today. Hope some of you can make it out for the military show. Where else are you going to get to hang out with probably the best restored Corsair in the country and maybe the only flying Husky? See you at the show.
Mike, you know the rules, clear the flight deck, push it over the side so flight ops can resume. :)
Storm, what a list of mods. Can hardly wait to see what you come up with.
Ahab, This is the 70th anniversary of the end of WW2, so I had said somewhere earlier that I was going to emphasize...
Sorry for the misdirection on the thread location. When you get old, they all start to run together. It has been about 3 years since I was up there for that event and it was fun. There were MV's, Firetrucks, and Hearses. What a combination. I think Elvis was driving one of the hearses.
You guys are killing me. :) Get em back on the road and we will see you next time. How about if you get up and going so you don't miss the 4th of July at my place. This year we are trying to emphasize WW2, but all MV's are welcome.
Storm how can your truck be in pieces? Can't believe...
So far it is looking like 3 vehicles. Anyone else coming out to play on Saturday? We have to leave the parking lot open for the vendors to pull in and unload till about 0900. Then they will clear out and we will get the front parking lot. P
I drove it! And it was fun! Also polished the turn signal and taillight lenses. The poor M54 has been languishing behind the M923, so got it out to run it a bit this weekend.
Anybody up for bringing their MV to this event. We have a couple down for it. She told me that they had 38 tables asked for so far. We might even get a peek at one of their new Blackhawks.
Put new O rings in the front turn signal covers. Kept getting moisture in them. Will see if that works. Mounted fire extinguisher to shift tower. Started working on a ridge pole for the the cargo bed top. Am using a fiberglass troop seat slat. Will have to section something in as the...
I have a tan top and for cleaning, carwash and hot water wouldn't touch the little black mold stains. So Bleche white white wall cleaner and a good scrub brush and a few hours later and it looks nearly new. There were a few rusty spots on the tan cargo cover and no amount of scrubbing took...
