There will be a small community parade on 20 Sept. in Quillcene WA. Parade starts at 1100. Our military history group is going and I am sure if you have an MV in the area you could tag along with our group. This is a short parade but the people really enjoy seeing the old green stuff. I will...
Hello Team, 13 Sept. 2014, Military vehicle display for Military Family Appreciation Day at Cabella's in Lacey, WA. Time for us 0830 to 1400. Public 1000 to 1400. If you don't get there by 0830 you will most likely be parking in the parking lot somewhere. Last year we had 1 deuce and 5...
I went to the local Semi Truck store and bought the 10 feet that I needed to replace for 3 bucks. This amount replaced three bad spots that I had on the M923 cargo cover. It was just a shade larger diameter than original, so waxed the holes in the top and it went in like a champ.
No Patriots Day events that I know of Coug. Just got done with a Military Tribute Parade in Tacoma. There was 1 - M 37, 1 - M923A2, and my 42 GPW, plus quite a few NG trucks and regular military vehicles as well. Of course I left the camera on the kitchen floor when I left this morning...
If you have someone that does a little sheetmetal work, it really doesn't look that bad from the pics. Then you would have a repaired original piece to that vehicle. You can definitely get a repro frame or probably find a used one that is in better shape. M38A1 yes.
Aaron, if they aren't in the mix for Saturday, I think 1st Sgt. Gifford, with M923A1, Wes and Geri with 43 MB, maybe Wayne with the M38A1C, all to come for the parade. I will most likely bring the M923 and maybe a display of some type. Will most likely come by Friday and hang out, once I can...
Glassk, thank you for that link. I had read that one, that is how 4 of the wires were Id'd, am still trying to figure out the other 4.
Tinwoodsman thank you also. That is where I was going to have to go if no one had an easy way. Once I get it figured out, will write it in my TM and post...
Thank you again for the tip. Just looked up 392-14&P. Section 4-19.2. It is essentially the same diagram that I am looking at for another trailer. Was hoping to find somewhere that it said you put red/white in B, Blk/red in J, Black in ? It can be figured out and I will be better for doing...
I will look thank you. So far I have 4 TM's sitting on my desk and have looked at numerous threads, with no referral to what the color is of the 8 wires in that coupling. There are 4 red and 4 black, with various colored stripes and I have figured out 4 of the 8 from other threads.
The wire and pin connectors backed out of the connector and I am trying to find a diagram that shows which color wire goes in which hole. For instance, it looks like the red wire is for marker lights and is E.
There are several good threads that point to the direction of how to adapt to...
T minus 10 hours or so and counting. There is still room for more vehicles or folks if you want to come out and talk about green and tan machines. Looks like up to 5 - 5 tons, half a dozen WW2 jeeps, M715, and maybe a deuce. See you in the morning. P
Joe, Dianna, and Mac, glad to have you along. See you Friday morning.
Been working on rigs and while inspecting and cleaning the M1102 trailer, noticed the protective sheath on the cable seemed to be sliding down. It appears that it split where it goes into the coupling and all the pins came...
Sorry, looks like I had a senior moment on this one. Put it on your calendar for next year, they have been doing it for about 75 years. Would have sworn I put something in about it. Did you see the note for the 4th of July in Centralia?
Found Skilkraft, Patagonia, Akwatek, King Louie, Fruit...
Will there be made in USA T-shirts this year?
Are you going to bring a truck to Winlock in the morning? I am meeting at Larry's on Military road at 0830 then down to the community breakfast, and parade at 1100. Come on team, get the lube going in those rigs. P
Carlo, you are right. I stayed in Gite in Graignes. Right across the street is the remains of the church and monument dedicated to 50 paratroops of the 507th, 1 - RAAF, 30 townspeople that were killed by the Germans. The local priest was helping retrieve weapons and ammo to keep the troopers...
Anyone coming out for the 4th? Through our military history group, have about 8 vehicles so far.
There is also a parade in Winlock on Saturday June 28. I got a reservation, so far only 3 vehicles.
There is a parade in Oakville, WA on July 5 if anyone would be interested. I might go if...
The trick when you go to an event such as this, is figure out where everyone is going and go some place else. I did several of the smaller memorial services.
At the Hemevez service, there was a contingent of US troops, German troops, and music from both Americans and Germans. 10 years ago...
How are your fuel lines? There are a couple of small ones, maybe a couple of inches on top of the tank, that if they have deteriorated, that will give you a problem. They are a bugger to get to and you may need a mirror and a good light to get to them. That solved the issue for me. And I too...
