Started cleaning the tan cargo cover. Pulled it off and put it on a picnic table for a solid surface to scrub against. There were a lot of black rub marks and paint that had rubbed off top bows. Took hot soapy water and a green scrub pad and it didn't have much effect on the marks. Then went...
Wanted to do Everett, but will have to settle for Omaha and Utah beaches. If anyone feels benevolent about giving a brother a ride, for any of the parades or events, will be staying in Graignes.
5/16 is the correct original size. Gunzy did some good work on this. I ended up at the local trucker supply store and went with the 3/8 that they had in stock. Took candle wax and waxed the holes in the tarp and the 3/8 worked like a champ. I just replaced the ones that were bad for about...
Local tractor supply helped out too. Be sure and put an attachment chain so you keep it, if for some reason it comes out of the hole. Had to do a bit of body work with the 4 pound hammer to the base plate on the leg on one trailer, because it would not clear the frame when rotated unless it...
Carlo, sorry to hear of your trouble for this event. With the importance of this event I would have to side with the WW2 emphasis groups. Certainly they can not tell you what to drive around the area. With my group, most events are open to all eras of vehicles, but once in awhile we will have...
Look for red rocket on here. She has put about 50000 miles on her Ural in the last 3 or 4 years. she has also put a lot of maintenance and repair for a bike that is so new. it is a good look for someone doing a Russian impression.
Did an event at small village in Belgium last weekend. one French Hotchkiss jeep in attendance. it was in nice condition with 24 volt system. ticking the da
mine is a 1977 M886. the interiour in the back is white with no evidence of seafoam green. would put a pic in but am on the road and am still having problems loading pics.
I too was there for the 60th and it was so much fun, am going again. I will do pictures, but am still having problems loading pics on this site, with the change in the management tool for doing that.
Mission accomplished. The weather held today and there was quite a crowd. Thanks to those SS members that were able to attend and or bring a vehicle along to the event. This is one of the best events that we do out here. At many places that we display, you don't get anywhere near the...
That is essentially a nice truck, it could be of concern that the fuel tank and tool box are both bent up for some reason.
Did someone perform the old GL trick of trying to pick up something with a forklift? It looks like you have a winner once you get the chance to work out a few bugs. Good...
If you are going to come out and bring your MV, if you have current DOD ID, there should not be a problem. it looks like we will be on the Baseball field again. Am headed up now to check out the situation and will let yo know if there is something different. If you don't have current Military...
If there is a need, would be glad to furnish the WW2 Large Wall tent for BOQ or if a family would like to get the WW2 experience. You will need to bring your own cots and sleeping bags. It is about 14x17 so can house quite a few.
This is the same tent that was set up last there last year...
Is anyone interested in doing the Winlock Egg Day parade? June 28, 2014. Last year we had 3 vehicles, M35, M54 and Tracy's Ural. If there is interest, I will put in a parade application. It is a small town and a nice parade. Parade starts and 1100 and doesn't take very long.
Don't forget...
We will be doing a display in Borst Park, right off exit 82, on I-5. Would like everyone in place by 0800 if possible.
This is an all eras event so bring your green machine. We will stay there till about 1230 and then head for my house for lunch. at 1500 we will go line up for the parade...
