The annual OFM airshow will be held on Father's Day weekend again this year. In the past they have encouraged participation of Vintage Military Vehicles, but there is a problem this year. It seems the area is infested with Mazama Pocket Gophers (endangered species). They are trying to get a...
After discussion with some our troops at the display at the Harley Dealer in Fife, WA, thought I had better bump this up.
It may be a little late to register for the event, as they wanted them in last month, but I am sure if you show up with an MV, that they can find someplace for you to park...
What a deal on getting new rolling stock folks. Hopefully they are paying the government more for the stuff than GL. take a look at your SF97 to determine the governments portion. It looks like it would take more to ship to CA than what the gov. was getting out of them. Besides it was almost...
with the reductions on base you would think they would take all the rent they could get. the reason trucks and trailers are currently headed for Fontana is that they are doing some work on the parking lots behind the building there at GL
Davo from the looks of your picture, you have a very nice tool box and it opens a bit, even if only 2 or 3 inches. I use Kroil but PB is good too. In the picture, I don't see any over spray or drip from too much oil. I would say oil it good and keep wiggling it back and forth and it is going...
Hello Team, time to get this date on your calendar. JBLM is Ft. Lewis for those that don't live in our area. If someone would like to take the paperwork on for this event, pm me and I will get you in touch with the right people. I am going to be focusing on Operation Overlord, D-day June 6...
Another mod we probably need to do, is the swivel crank landing leg to the 101. It looks like most of the Army trailers don't have this, but the Air Force ones do. I was going to take it to the trailer store to see what matched up.
Good luck with those trailers Coug. I have been waiting for weekend weather to get better so I can experiment on the 1102, by putting a set of the smaller 16.5 tires on it. I think that will drop it down where it will tow level behind the Dodge 3/4. I went with one of the available adapters...
Scott, how did the swap meet go? OFM was good, I think because of the bad weather, we had a pretty good turnout of visitors. CUCVnut, welcome to the NW.
Thank you for the picture. I thought I got one too, but apparently got scared off from the rain and did not. Did take a couple pictures inside, where it was dry, but was pretty busy talking with folks about the display. does that top make my truck look fat?
The show went well. We had 4 vehicles in attendance, despite the terrible wet weather. I think we need to come up with an award for perserverance for Redrocket and her Ural. I am pretty sure that I passed Noah on the way home and she had to make her ride with no cab.
There was a Ural, M923...
Here are a couple of pictures of the new M1102 with mortar attachments. I got these on base with some troops that were in training on the new system. Neat stuff. I have more pics but downloading them in manage attachments in not working well for me for some reason. It is odd that they would...
Time to get this back on the radar. It is next Saturday. So far we have 4 vehicles declared to be there. Bring your rig and put it on display. They are saving the front parking lot for us and you get free admission for bringing your rig. They want us to stay out of the parking lot till...
Welcome back. I am still up for meeting for hamburgers if we can find a good time. The 1st Sgt. and I went to Camp Rilea last weekend and acted as troop transport. that brought some life back into this for me as well. The 923 is a pleasure to drive.
Precisely what we paid for. Well said. Thank you for sharing this information. I am currently dealing with parts of a 5.7 mil. grant called Camo to Commerce. It is designed to help service people that are leaving the service, get some help to find good careers in civilian life. The grant...
So whatever pittance we would have gotten out of that equipment, as a taxpayer, is now eaten up in transportation cost, so the only one getting a return is the sales contractor. What a deal.
You sort of do when you get the SF 97. There was another sheet with mine showing a company paying sales tax on so much, which I think was about 1250 on the purchase price, then it was sold to me for something over 3000 and I paid a buyers premium and sales tax on it. So for an example...
They are sure cranking a lot out by Barstow and Fontana. GL JBLM has been boring lately. Maybe they should try a few more at yakima. The last couple of batches over there was a new thing for them and they were being managed out of JBLM.
