lol yea i ment injector timing, i advanced it a tiny bit that is what a guy told me to do. mounting is all correct. idk maby some how i am shimming it wrong but i dont think so i use a pater clip to check it and everything. flexplate/ring gear what where is that and how do i check and fix.
alright well i went through starters like skittles a month ago and then i adjusted the valve timing, and i was finally feeling good about it starting everytime, then a week ago it starts acting up again, and so i have to keep turning it over by hand a lil because it sounds like it is wining...
ok well i will probly try that first since i will be getting a new one anyway, what should i get then because this one i have now is a rebuild, should i try a gear reduction?
wow alright thanks guys, yea im on my 4th starter in like two months and i just adjusted my injector timing and it worked great for a few weeks then it started sounding like its grinding and its always in one spot and that spot is a little warn so i figure that is the hopefully last problem, or...
alright id say i have to replace the flex plate and i was wondering if there were any easy way to do this?
also where is a good place to get it from, are there two different models for the truck with different number of teeth?
alright so i am on on my third starter in a month and i have no idea why.
i have been told it may be injector pump timing ok so can anyone tell me how to do this or what else may be wrong.
the people that i bought the truck from just had a direct battery to gp and that is why all of mine just burnt out, no i am wondering what i should do. i would like to use the wait light. is there an after market controller i can wire in?
I bought wellman gp about 2 months ago and went out yesterday and wont start, so i removed the gp's and hooked them up to a battery and nothing happened. two were a little melted.
yea i have and i just tried taking all of the glow plugs out but i got to one that wont come out i can get it loose but like the end is catching on something what could that be and could that be my problem?
ok i have a 86 6.2 cucv and i have cranking with no start. my thinking is the gloplugs but i just had them replaced with wellman plugs, but they dont seem to get hot, the relay on the firewall does click over.

well i really dont know what it exactly sounded like but to me it dident sound good, the guy at murries said that it could me timming off, and do a injector pump test or replacement.
ok i have a 86 cucv and it was driving good and one time i went out to start it and it hesitated then made a weird low thud noise before it started and then it started squeaking,(to me it sounded like belts). but sound went away so i thought it was the belts. took it home and tried to start it...
