PNW-2013-Fifth Annual Chehalis River Valley M/V Convoy & Campout

Move in Night Here are a few pics of some of the preliminary attenders to this event. Missed a couple of them but you get the idea. Took the M54 out to Aaron's tonight and on the way on I-5, right where it turns from 2 to 3 lanes, had someone decide to pass me on the right. I had my signal on...

Mike, do a rolling slow down and it would be nice depending on lineup if something big was bringing up the rear. I really hate being on the freeway at 40 - 45 with a WW2 jeep. But for some reason, people give plenty of room to the 5T. Whatever happens, we will make it work.

PNW-2013-Fifth Annual Chehalis River Valley M/V Convoy & Campout

Add Exit 81, southbound on ramp, at 0645, two WW2 jeeps. You guys should be there about 0650 or so. See you Saturday morn. P

PNW-2013-Fifth Annual Chehalis River Valley M/V Convoy & Campout

There is always the old volunteer method, you, you, and you, with me! We might have an extra WW2 jeep or two to kick in the mix. Showing the variety of vehicles is a great idea.

PNW-2013-Fifth Annual Chehalis River Valley M/V Convoy & Campout

That sounds like a game plan. I will pass it on to the 1st Sgt. He will be coming across on 93rd ave. which is the overpass, so he will turn left and wait. There isn't much room, but there is some, on the on ramp, as I have waited there before. Most likely I will catch you guys at Exit 81...

PNW-2013-Fifth Annual Chehalis River Valley M/V Convoy & Campout

Mike, could 1st Sgt. Gifford tag along with you guys, meeting at Exit 99 at 0615? His only limitation is that he will be driving his 43 CCKW and it only does about 45. He doesn't want to slow you guys down, but wouldn't mind some back up in case something happens. He is not on this site and I...

PNW-2013-Fifth Annual Chehalis River Valley M/V Convoy & Campout

I would say if we have volunteers that wish to do the parade. I am thinking of doing the display only as I will be setting other display items out. At the end of the parade, everyone that wants can come set up in the display area as well. This is a good point Mike. Perhaps we set the display...

Need mechanics opinion on my next move

Have to go with NDT's advice. One picture sure looks like corrosion in the head between the cylinders. Definitely have it checked out and milled if needed. I really like JB weld and it would probably work, but so would a nice flat mating surface.

PNW-2013-Fifth Annual Chehalis River Valley M/V Convoy & Campout

Is anyone bringing a display with or other than their MV's for Saturday morning. In discussion with Aaron last weekend, we were thinking 10 or so vehicles for the parade and the rest, that would like, on display in the grassy field in front of the grocery store in Napavine. We will figure out...

Watch the low wires this time of year. They are supposed to be at least 14 ft. above traveled way, but with the heat. Who knows? Looks great. See you next weekend. P

Bring the Green iron, we will work on the rest. This is a "Friends of Willie and Joe" event. But there will be all eras of vehicles from WW2 this way, a few displays, and some people in period uniforms. As it will be warm, I am not too inclined to the WW2 wool field gear. Bottom line, come...

Hello Joe, glad to have you. Traffic in the park is a bit tricky as they have a fun run going on and have the main road gated. Drive straight in the main entrance, 100 yard or so in the park, there will most likely be a gate across the road, pull to that gate and if no one is there, check to...

The parade is usally done about 1700. Some people are meeting at my house at 0730 if you would like to do that. They are dropping their civy cars and will ride over in MV's, will be to the park at 0800 or before, eat breakfast there, set up and be on display till 1230 and head for the house...

Mine M54 may be needing an oil pressure gauge as well. The needle moves up in a jerky fashion, will pull the connectors off and check for good contact. Instructions, we don't need no stinkin instuctions! Good job.

Sorry you have to work on the 4th. it is shaping up, so far looks like about 8 to 12 vehicles. Depending on what, who has operating that day. Peter

What is the 5% that isn't original. Unrestored, mostly complete without rust through, with proper seat frames, windshield, wheels, body parts, running or not, complete proper engine? and probably a few other things, pretty easily 2500 to 3500 as a bottom starting figure.

    Wiper Motor is stuck!

Good luck on the rebuild. I followed the thread on rebuilding these, cleaned them, blew them out, put in new o-rings, lubed and have had it apart 6 to 10 times (mostly because I am cheap) with no luck. I managed to find one of the old style metal wiper motors on a friends scrap pile, took it...

Mike, if you need 1 inch stencils, all you have to do is ask. I have a 1914 Marine Corp marked Ideal Stencil machine. It pumps out one inch stencils in exactly the same font as the markings on my 1953 M38A1. the only limitation is paper length if you want it to all be on one piece. Of course...
