I'd just try and find a Special forces type C pillar and use the side rails that go with it.
You may be able to sell or trade your existing c pillar and sponson's for one
Or you can cut and modify your Sponson's. That's what I did.
When it comes to the curtain part your going to be custom...
I'd focus on the paperwork before I spent another dollar on it.
What engine and trans is in it?
Do you have a park position on your shifter?
What emergency brake set up does it have?
You may have fun with that gas tank install depending on the existing e brake set up on your truck now.
You have to have the light switch set to brake lights or service drive to send power to horn if I'm not mistaken.
Horn is located dead center of front diff. pointed down.
Not everyone has scratches. I made a set of sheet metal covers that install on the lower section of the doors to protect the windows when they are open.
I saw the drawings for them in a supplemental TM along time ago.
Now I run half doors so I don't have any glass at all.
I think first gen doors had some Kevlar in them not just fiberglass.
Like others have probably said it's more then the door , it's all the other parts that make them expensive.
Back in the days when HMMWV's were rare and parts were plentiful I used to make half doors out of them.
I made a set of...
Can't always go by the data plate. It's a good start.
They should be riveted in place not just stuck on with the adhesive on the back.
Also the rivets should show there age.
My question is why the guy that is selling it doesn't know what it is?
How did he buy it or acquire it?
It must not have...
Will it's like Caution tape.
Everyone knows what it means but still 95% of people don't think it applies to them.
After all they can step over it or duck under it.
They can't explain why they crossed it after they did. They look at you like why you getting upset at me , and who are you to tell...
Sadly I think the recent release of the HMMWV's again through GP is what started the whole mess for all FMV's nation wide.
Some HMMWV's from the early Auction in the 90's got out and many got registered for the road.
So they put an end to it by changing the de-mil code. Thinking that will keep...
So it doesn't have anything to do with ones that were sold as off highway only stamped on the paperwork from Gov planet
in recent years?
Kind of sucks that they issued plates then changed their mind.
Have a friend with a Pinz they did that to. But I think he only had the plates a week and they...
What 86 said and a soft top A pillar ( windshield Frame) has rubber bumpers on the outside / front of it and hinges to allow it to fold down.
Slant back A frame wont have the bumpers .
What engine is in your HMMWV?
What alternator is in it. 100 amp dual voltage ? 200 amp dual voltage
What TCU are you using?
Aftermarket or military?
Where is the TCU getting it's power from?
If OEM have you checked the breaker in the foot well of the rear passenger area ?
How old are the...
I'd like to nominate your adjustable seat back design for most unique and down right ingenious upgrade .
It should come standard from the manufacturer.
I salute your ingenuity and willingness to share your design.
You should market them before I copy it.
BH
I'd start with a title and registration for the road.
If you can't get that in your state then your not going to have to worry about the street worthy part.
For a soft top ?
or a hard top ? with or without turret support?
If soft top you should be able to find one for less then $400
Standard slant back C pillar tubes don't actually have any bends in them . They are however crushed or flattened in spots.
If your going to try and copy a OEM...
