Normally soft top HMMWV also had soft doors at least when issued.
Normally trucks with a hard tops had what are referred to as X doors.
They were on the early weapons carrier trucks. both used the same hinges ( two ) but the striker was different between the soft and hard doors)
Over the years...
You will find member 86humv very helpful when trying to locate parts at a reasonable price.
Some new some used but in good shape.
Sorry got a chuckle out of the "need it fixed quick and also need to save money" part while talking about a HMMWV
Do you have a dual voltage alternator in it?
What size?
The 4l80e will need a trans controller
You need to decide if your going to try and keep it all original using the military Trans controller or an aftermarket.
Both require 12 volts.
Your 6.5 NA may already have the 200 amp dual voltage...
Basically it looks like the one your looking for is 7" tall and this one is 12" tall .it's the next one down on the BMGparts .com site.
Part # is D52890
When you going to get back to the priest with the radial in it.
Might have to come down and see that thing light off.
If nothing else I learn a few new cuss words every time I'm around you.

https://gear-report.com/help-hmmwv-wont-start-humvee-glow-plug-start-system-maintenance
The batteries could have been toast but the guy you bought it from used the nato plug and jump started it. that's why it was running when he arrived to pick it up...
I never was in the service . But I soon learned what HMMWV stood for .
And once mine retired from the Marine Corp the Acronym changed from High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle to High Maintenance Money Wasting Vehicle.
Nobody in there right mind should own one if they can't learn to...
You said the battery was dead as in " one " and you replaced "it" with a yellow top.
Also you are turning a " knob" what " knob" are you turning.
More then likely your glow plugs need to be replaced as well as the control box and the TSU.
Also you need to make sure that both of your...
I'm trying to figure a way to load and unload a custom doodad I'm making for the bed of mine but it doesn't extend wider then the inside width of the bed.
thinking of building a trailer mount for the doodad that will lift it level to the bed and slide it in . like a drawer slide.
check the spacing and measurements first. I could be blowing smoke.
Might look into a set of those camper jacks so you can lift it up off ground then back under it.
Just an idea.
Have fun with it . it's a cool set up.
Holes probably line up with the existing 3 at back of truck bed and 2 about even with the where the 4 man bulkhead would go.
I think the front one is where the tie downs are
the holes in the floor were put there as a field mod in almost every truck . To let water out of the thing. since you can never make them water tight.
Most of the holes I've seen look like the were made with the end of a pick then opened up with the other end.
Perhaps if you told us what year and what engine / transmission was in the vehicle originally it might help.
Also if you gave us the #'s you can identify it would help by elimination .
What shifter are you removing ? a 4 speed?
there will be a neutral safety switch, possibly even a switch for...
