I bought a singled out truck a few years ago and I couldn't stop thinking of a old lady with a real wide back end. Part of my family tree has many such women:roll:
It looks like I will be there now. I will have to look around and see what I need to place in a good home (sell). I will look the other threads and stuff over. I have not followed this event at all really. I think I will make the 8 hour trip down friday morning and leave Sunday morning for home...
I'm not trying to hijack the thread here, but I have a nice M813 in my back yard with no title and no way of getting one. I have been trying for a year. I have been told by the DMV several times, no title in hand, you get no title.
SO, other than going the "buying it from a state that...
There should be a number on the drives side front frame behind the wheel. That will help a lot. It looks like it is the longer frame for a M3. I dout it is a international but that is just a hunch. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out with a little research.
I tell you what, it pays to go check these out before you bid. One of the trucks will hardly run. Another ran great but the body was shot. Mine (assuming my EUC clears) has a hard top, electric wipers, fiberglass troop seats and is green. The other 4 are brown. A nice color for dirt.
Ha, ha, ha. I'm sure glad someone out bid me on the other truck. I only had enough money for one truck.
Get ready to barf,
I'm going to bob this and put it on ebay. Times are hard and I need to make a few bucks.
I have one too and I have the TM for it somewhere. I have fixed mine up and put a window in the front. It is made of fiberglass and very light weight. I think I unloaded and loaded it in my BOB deuce by myself but my truck didn't have fender wells.
I will hunt that TM.
I don't know if this poll is an easy thing to decide on. After a few minutes of thought (that's all my brain can do with out hurting) I think the day will come when we won't be able to play with the toys like we want to. I don't thinking owning them is ever going to be a problem, but driving...
Well let see if I can do this right. I will post what I know here and see if it's enough to determine year of make and who made it.
Data plate contains the following info:
Truck, cargo, 5 ton 6 x6 , M813 wo/w
Fed stock no 2320-050-8902
nothing is stamped on this plate
Another plate states...
OK, I am going to the DMV this week and need some more info.
On the frame next to the steering box is some numbers. Does any one know what they mean. I have the location pictured below. What I need more than anything is the manufacturer and the year of make. This truck was "rebuilt" perhaps in...
It is a flat bed. I made the sides to just lift out in case I ever wanted to try and pull my goose neck trailer with it. But since I put the dump on it the hoist was in the way of any type of hitch under the bed. The read bumper was my father in laws doing. I welded it but it was at his request...
I haven't read all of this thread but after reading the first page I thought to myself, you needed my old truck. You can read and see it here:

I hope that link works.
Gentlemen, if the accounts are not deleted, a simple link to their profile on a page with names and maybe a little info would not be too hard. I might not know what I'm talking about though.
I have often thought about what I would have done if I had money just 10 years ago. In the 80's I could have bought a tank. The M35's are a unique bunch. You can find old gassers at GSA auctions right next to a multi-fuel. Problem is most of us don't have the money to sit on any of this stuff...
Well, what ever you do, don't get in a hurry to buy a deuce. There are lots of them coming off the bases right now and some are had pretty cheap. I don't think you will miss any deals. I sold a truck last year for $3000 that was practically brand new. It would still be here if I wasn't broke. Do...
I respectfully withdraw my recommendation. If you are going to haul on hilly roads, don't get a deuce. Around here it's fairly flat. I have driven on hills and the deuce sucks. The deuce would be cool, but those hills will kill you. What you need is a 5 ton.

I wouldn't worry too much about the cost of up keep. I don't think it would be any more than any other vehicle of this size. GL-1 gear lube is cheap (that's what you put in the axle and so forth), It's a little more oil than a small truck, but the miles you sound like you will put on it won't...
