Looking for M151 Spare Tire "Long Bolt"

When I had my M151 I just took the plate that holds the spare on and put a bolt through it. Then attached the disk for the MP markings. This way if you needed to change the tire you took the disk off then undid the spare tire like normal. Was an easy mod to do and if I wanted to display the...

Military antenna conversion to AM/FM car radio

You are good to go! You have the coax adapter I was talking about. Everything looks good. Enjoy your tunes!

    M886 Commo Truck Build

Did you have the head side of the manifolds machined also to make sure you got a true seat and fit? Just wondering. Looking good. Keep up the good work!

Military antenna conversion to AM/FM car radio

I agree with Wire Fox that just about any military antenna will work because you are in receive mode only. **** a coat hanger or a random length of wire will work. The only thing you may have to look for is an adapter to go from the coax connector on the feed cable to the antenna port on the...

Body work - what gauge is the steel on an M211?

I don't remember the gauge of the metal on the M211 I had, but I know it was very thin (18 maybe?) and the welder I had would blow holes through it when I tried to weld in new metal. I had to get a lower heat/power range welder to work on it.

    Dash and gauges (electrical issues)

Though I haven't read the TM for the HMMWV I have read plenty if TMs and most of them have an excellent troubleshooting section in them that will take you through a step by step check to find out what is or isn't working with your gauge. If the TM has trouble shooting procedures I would follow...

    Military Fire Trucks

I saw one M37 turned brush truck. The rest were all civilian trucks from what I could see. There is a hobby that puts MV Collecting to shame in the dollars and cents category.

    Question to all ambulance owners.

I would think it would be easier to drop a camper into the bed than it would to convert a pick up into a box van. Or get a box off a box van truck and put it on the frame and don't connect the cab to the box.

save M715 original or making it practical ?

The M715 was a temp replacement to the M37 so it was only built for 3 years (more like 2.5) but in a large enough quantity that there are still many of them out there. Unfortunately they were made with a motor that for whatever reason was given a bad rap (bad pr) and so when the trucks hit the...

Again congrats on your excellent workmanship in bringing the old girl back to life. Many people myself included would have written that body off for scrap so a huge round of applause for your efforts! :goodjob: :not worthy: [thumbzup] The mods are A-Okay in my book! Drive her with pride!

    First MUTT

Congrats on the new ride. It looks good. I knew a few guys back in the day who would Y cut the mutts to get them off the DRMO lot, but would make reweld easy. Yours might be one of them. Take a look at RAPCO http://www.rapcoparts.com/ you might be able to get the brake parts you need there...

rails up resto in picture form

I asked about the alternator because that's what is posted in the pictures. If you had a generator you would have the voltage regulator mounted on the firewall. You also have the windshield washer reservoir which is an A2 only part and you have an A2 steering wheel. I'm not criticizing. I...

    LED headlamp go bikini blink

I'm thinking it's a defective light. If you had a loose wire feeding the light the whole light would blink on and off and not just part of the light. Therefore I'm thinking it's the lamp its self.

Using an alternator on an A1? I take it your not putting the vehicle back to all original?

My new M220 soon to be camper

With Mustard being moved to the campsite I have to ask. Will she ever roll again or will she become a permanent fixture at the camp ground?

    M35/211 bed canvas

Yep. One time I got a great deal on a vinyl M35 top ($50.00) and I put it on my M211 no problems.

    Well shoot! 6-Bolt vs 4-Bolt Crank/Flywheel

Take your flywheel to a engine machine shop and have them do the conversion. This type of work is something done in the hot rod world all the time. Generally it's a four to eight bolt conversion, but a good machine shop should be able to convert four to six.
