Dear Wylec:
Add this to your TM's and do it every morning you go out to drive your deuce, but be sure you do THIS first and correct any issues found, especially with the brakes, driveline or steering!

Looks like the gooseneck was still on the trailer, but using 100 ton jacks to level the trailer before attempting the unload would have helped, along with traction mats on the trailer. It didn't look like there were many large trees, so anchoring the cat on the uphill...

Wait until you HAVE to stop a 13,500 lb truck, you step on the pedal, and nothing's there. Your parking brake will not stop you, many small to medium trees will not stop you, the guardrail may not stop you, BUT the seatcover sucked up your butt while you're stepping on...

Very interesting article. However, when I can, I trash the plastic wiper motors as they are of the lowest possible quality and reliability. If they were so hot, GM would have used then on our locomotive wipers, but the Prime Mfg locomotive motors might be a better replacement...

OOps! Mea Culpea! When you do replace the exhaust manifold nuts, you may want to replace them with brass nuts as they are less likely to heat seize on a steel stud. Otherwise, when you do the overhaul of the engine, I wonder if stainless steel studs and brass nuts might not...

There are many photographs taken in Vietnam, and I believe Operation Desert Storm with the hood side doors open or even completely removed. All one has to worry about is air through the radiation, and the last new radiator NOS for my deuce had a fan shroud on it.

Locate a set of head bolt removal wrenches! With those you'll have a better chance at getting the bolts out without breaking them. These wrenches are specific to the multifuel engine. You can usually find them on E----!

Unless GL or GP is selling HMMWV's from the original Marine trade in contract, all later HMMWV's sold by the military were to be purely sold as off road use, anyone telling you otherwise is going to land an unformed buyer in a world of hurt. And any uniformed buyer who attempts...

If the seller is in Texas, and you are not, getting your money back becomes a Federal Fraud case, I am pretty certain that the Texans will be more then happy to lock the man up if he doesn't make good on the return of your money. Next time, though, "Caveat Emptor" (Latin for...

Blazer 1987:
Respectfully,
Buy a HMMWV that was sold by the USMC back in the 1990's and which was known to have an SF-97 convertible to a clear title. Otherwise, do not buy one from GL or GP as they are titled "OFF ROAD ONLY'. No way to break that contract, it descends with...

Another reason I retrofitted my M35A2 with the convoy lights and masts, so at night they could be extended above the cargo top on the bed. I also would fit the truck or trailer with the reflectorized "Convoy Ahead" military convoy sign to increase my visibility.... God rest the...

The Swiss unimog has an inverted channel bolted to the top of the windshield frame to catch a similar unit riveted to the top. to remove the top just loosen the various cords and catches, and flip the top off the cab going forward. Then unbolt the two bolts, one at each end of...

Gentlemen:
It was no joke up there about the armor. I am not sure that I would trust too many Americans with armor in a functional context. Do remember that Detroit and Minneapolis are prime ISIS recruiting grounds, and that Tim McVeigh was home grown and very dangerous, plus...

Folks, this is Germany! I suspect that because the equipment was in his cellar, he probably did not have a bill of sale for it, or the demil codes have changed. Legally speaking, without a bill of sale from the legitimate owner of that equipment (which was, ipso facto, an...

Did you replace all the hoses in the brake system while you were flipping the hubs? Sometimes the older brake hoses have an inner and outer layer that separates, and when you apply the brakes the inner layer backs off, but when the pressure drops for the brakes to release, the...

If your deuce doesn't already have one...the yellow sticker on the dashboard reading: "High Intensity Noise- Hearing Protection Required", would probably tip your passengers off that tablet hearing aids do not qualify as hearing protection while truck is running would be a...

There are some civilian aftermarket units that will fit in the cab under the dashboard, but be sure the motors set up for 24VDC, the NOS units have their good points and their bad points, and the arctic diesel fueled ones will run you out of the cab, but beware of heating your...

If you need an IP, see if KIA Military Motors deuce uses the same or similar IP, if so, it should be made much better then the aforementioned Chinese boat anchor.......:???:
