    Bought two M37's today

Great find, I always seem to miss the local auctions, I know what you mean about the wait, the owner of this M37 died several years ago now the wife won't sell until after her death( and the M37 slowly melts into the ground). James

    Deuce MC Venting?

I am thinking about adding a hose fitting like my M715 has an running a vent hose up along the cab floor for the time being. I am also thinking about using Dot3 fluid for the time being since I will be draining and refilling as I work on the brake system over the next few months. Dot 5 is...

    Deuce MC Venting?

I am trying to use my new power bleeder on the Hog truck, it's master cylinder vent is completely different from those I have seen in all the threads in the search results. They show the same type vent I have on my differentials. Mine has a L in the top of the MC filler cap and a brake line...

    Caution with loadouts!

I was told the nation wide policy has changed, GL no longer helps load any private vehicles! If you are a truck line they will load, anything else you are on your own. Last time I was in Hooks they wouldn't even help pull a M105 our of a double line of trailers, expect no help at all. James

    Death of a Bumper

They did good from the bumper up, unfortunately they did nothing from the bumper down, so both corners of the clip are bent in, the passenger side much more than the dirvers side, you can tell by the brush guard and the head light ring won't fit due to the deformation. Just something else to...

Jerry Can Paint and O Ring

If you find a source for the seal let me know, I need abut a dozen, but I don't want to pay $8 a seal either. We have a gasket wholesaler in town I am heading over there tomorrow, I will post what I find. As for caps, they seem to be about the same price as a whole can when you can find one...

    Death of a Bumper

The railroad iron and the pipe and the 3/4 inch platform must weigh in at 3-400 lbs. The front end looks about the same level, but it is rated at 11/4tons so the springs are pretty stiff anyway. And yes the OK Forestry Dept. compound has a wall around the 4-5 acre holding area made of Gamma...

    Death of a Bumper

From what I understand some of the maint. variant of the 715 were updated to the newer NP205, my truck came directly from active/reserve use and it still has the double stick NP200. The newest truck has a single stick due to the 205 with a standard size pto and no emergency brake! When I head...

    Death of a Bumper

It began life as a 6217 contact maint. truck, I am sure the OK forestry service scraped the maint. bed and replaced it with the std. bed, they did on the cheap, leaving the gas tank in the rear position. It is kinda sharp the way the transmission has a forward facing pto and the NP205 has a...

Anyone Heading to Hooks next Week?

Is anyone heading to Hooks, TX for a pickup or inspection in the next week or so? If so shoot me a PM! James

    Death of a Bumper

The truck was a great buy, it was an ugly duckling, only after looking did I notice it had a winch, power steering, engine conversion, was an ex-contact maint. truck, so two PTOs and it had been converted to an NP205 by Uncle Sam. Too bad they VFD cut the bed for a cattle feeder mount. I...

    Death of a Bumper

Found time to work on the VFD monster bumper that was added to the M715/6217 I won in the Oklahoma Forestry Commission auction a few months ago. The firemen who built the bumper were at the compound when I loaded the truck. They wished me well on getting it off, the guy said they welded on...

    Burma Jeep Manuals

I need a source for the manuals for the GTB Burma Jeep. The only numbers I have come up with are below, I have already checked the resource tab with no luck. I plan on picking mine up this week or next and I would like to at least look through the manuals first. James FORD BURMA JEEP GTB...

    Burma Jeep

Here is the possible parts source, I know it is within an hours or so drive, I just have to remember the right highway? The last two shots are of a truck I first tried to get, but the owner is just going to let it melt into the ground. It's been two years and I had given up looking but not...

    Burma Jeep

Papabear: Are you pretty sure on the dimensions, that extra two inches will be a problem. The guy has two new commercial tires for the truck, I may have to use them on the front and put the deuce tires on the rear, if I can't get them to air up for the load and unload process. As for parts I...

    Burma Jeep

Well I need to head over to the truck to spray a little SiliKroil on the some lug nuts, if the extra tire size doesn't put me over the 7 foot limit on the car hauler? But with four good tires on it I may be able to towbar it home? But, after sitting for 40 years the trailer may be the best...

    Burma Jeep

Just a shot in the dark, the tires on the GTB are 7.5x20, could I mount 9x20 on those wheels or better yet I wonder if I could just bolt on deuce wheels and tires? If the bolt pattern is the same this would be easy! I think it is a six lug wheel? James

    Burma Jeep

He took my offer, plus a hundred, so now I need to find a way to get it home! My car hauler has seven feet between wheel wells, I think if I pull the two rear tires it my just fit, at 7250 lbs it will be near the max on my car hauler and Armada, but it's only 26 miles and I have smooth little...
