I hope your luck is better than mine with these sets, I got four all total from GL in Hooks, TX, the first one has a seized engine, it looks like is was left outside with the primer plug out and water got into the cylinder. The second one turns over great and puts out a great cloud of vaporized...
About 53 is as fast as i have gone in my 543a2, I could run faster but never tried. 45 is a comfortable speed for me in a machine built in 1966 and weighing 42000lbs. After all JT is right on capabilities and it is not a speeder.

The bows and troop seats were from a earlier stop, the troop seats were supposed to be fiberglass but it turns out they are half and half wood and fiberglass? I think the large data plate is for the rear pto operation for the genset/welder in the maint. bed.

The AC unit was kind of unique! I tried buying some of the winch parts off one of the five tons and it was a no go, he says he uses the same winch on his wrecker so no sale on winch system parts, he didn't seem real interested in selling any of the 5 ton stuff. Next time I am up that way I...
Last year I was up at Memphis Equipment and they had a pallet stacked waist high with spades, all looked new, when I asked they were a special order from the gov., MEC had them made somewhere there in Memphis, I think they were $300 each.

From what I have seen they live off filling federal contract for obsolete material and sells to foreign governments, a couple of months ago I posted some photos of 10-15 referb. 5 tons heading overseas.

I will be stopping by Memphis Equipment if anyone needs anything picked up, shipping is a killer on small stuff from Memphis Equip. so if you are in driving distance of Fayetteville or Russellville let me know what you need. They are on the way to picking up the M448 shop trailer I paid for...
