I am definitely going to have to take you up on that kit. I have learned already with this truck to not throw away anything like I did with the oem starter
OK I purchased both on Oriellys. I hope I got the correct master cylinder as there are two listed. I went with the 1925. I was thinking the same thing as to holding onto the old one. The new one I purchased I think has a lifetime warranty at least. I saw the thing was also wet were the rod...
No it's the m1008 truck version. It's leaking were the hydroboost bolts together but on the bottom btw. It's literally dripping down on to the leaf spring and ground. The thing has to be shot. I want to obviously replace the hydroboost and the master cylinder while I am at it. Those two...
I am currently not near the truck to take photos but it's definitely leaking especially under pressure and not from the hoses. It's on the bottom of the hydraboost. I dried it off drove it and watched it drip especially after hitting the brakes. The truck sat for like 8 years so I am sure the...
Hi everyone I got a bad leak with the above parts especially the Brake Booster it's literally dripping. Now I want to make sure I am getting the right parts. The brake booster looks identical and they only list one on Oriellys. But the master cylinder has me thrown off. The brake code is...
I appreciate all the info from everyone. Yeah I have talked to John at hillbilly wizard before and he is awesome and super helpful. He helped me out with my starter issue recently. I called them the other day but they are out of the shop at SEMA this weekend. I will definitely give him a...
I got a guy somewhat local to me sending me some stuff. But to be honest I wouldn't mind having even more extra parts so I am definitely interested. If you want to send me a message I guess that's the best way to see what you want for the stuff? I appreciate it
OK I didn't realize that but I was in a salvage yard yesterday and saw plenty of 6.5s still intact. So literally just take the valve cover and cdr from the 6.5?
I have a 1984 cucv and I recently ordered a new cdr to put on the truck as preventive maintenance. I discovered the other day that one of the lines that leads to the drivers side intake manifold port has the rubber hose busted.
The rubber fittings (2) one on each side look like they are 3/4...
I ended up getting it all set up in the spot were the dummy light sensor was. One crazy thing I noticed last night here in the mountains with temps in the 40s is the truck wouldn't get warm. I thought the gauge was bad till I went up a mountain twice and it only got around 160 then back down...
Yeah I may just remove whatever sensor that is on the drivers side head and put it there. Apparently it is a temperature sensor to some degree with everything I have read so far.
OK so now I am confused I have no spot on the thermostat housing area unless I drill and tap and that's something I don't want to do. So can the sensor go down here by the front drivers side head? I have manual glow plugs and honestly I am not sure what this sensor is. There is also this...
I can definitely tap into that spot easily from that picture. It's right by the thermostat. Do you think most of the shelf mechanical guages will have the correct fitting to put in there?
OK I will keep this short and to the point. I am looking to add a cheap mechanical temp guage so I can monitor my coolant temps because I have obviously no guage and no way to know what the temp currently is. I am not sure if the idiot light (low coolant) also functions as a running hot light...
