Looks like 3/4", but I'll mosey over now and measure it.... All I know is that box is about as heavy as the sleeve puller kit for the multifuel....
I'll be back by 1700CT if not sooner.... thanks:razz:

Thanks, Frodobaggins, I will drop him a line, so to speak. Whever did you come up with the kitten with the horns icon? Your old one was more obvious, the new one has had me curious since you installed it......

So what do you think Uncle intended it to be used for, other then Libations for a Bob Hope USO show???? Curiousity killed the inspector, so to speak, and satisfaction brought him or her back!

Here's the dope...... I've been unemployed for 6 plus months, been without unemployment for 1 month (waiting on the Federal emergency Unemployment to kick in, and I'll likely be going back to work for the Feds in about a month..... So, as...

:razz: To confirm what Kenny said in the post above, Adelman's truck parts in Canton, Ohio has the complete convoy light kit, 2 masts & 2 lights for $150.00 plus shipping. Kit is designed for application to the M35A2 truck. Now let me get outta the way before the stampede...

Admittedly, I haven't seen the truck in question (in photos); Admittedly I did see new M1010 Ambulances in West Virginia going for $29,000 off the dealers lot with like 450 miles on the odometer (whatever the drive distance was from Detroit to Martinsburg & Charles Town, W.Va.)...

Boy, that truck is sure unique.....! It reminds me of the refueler Harpers Ferry NHP got from the Martinsburg ANG, a 1967 Dodge with the same tank and pump set up, and an equally ugly cab.... I guess the USAF only worries about aesthetics in aerodynamics...

What kind of finish are you trying to replicate? Semi-Gloss, Flat, or Ultra Flat? If your Unimog was either German Army or Swiss Army in origin, the original paint was a variation on OD Semi-Gloss, which is evident on my S404.114 Swiss inside the cab & Bed...

:| Drive like all those fool car drivers around you are goning to do something very stupid around your deuce..... They will! Keep your head on a swivel and your eyes and ears going!
Think about what you're gonna do when something fails (like the brakes) on the truck...

You can always tell your wife you know a guy who when he got married, already owned a 70 ton operating railroad dining car, went on to own a caboose, one 125 ton diesel locomotive, and almost bought a 195 ton ocean going tugboat...... Now all I own is a M35A2, M105A2,Unimog and...

:-P AlexT:
Neat picture. In the states the CUCV lead would have a reflectorized "Convoy Follows" on the front end and the last vehicle would have a "Convoy Ahead" sign ditto. Rick Larsen at Rick Larsen's Military Stencils here in the states could set you up with a...

:ditto: The deuce is rated at 54-56 MPH at red line on standard 9:00X20 tires, goes up to 63 with 11:00X20's...... The M35A3 with the Allision 4 speed auto I think can barely clear 55 and is very near its red line too.....

I used the gaskets between the transmission and the bell housing because the service manual called for it, and my truck has been forded near that deep, so anything to keep the water out is OK with me. I am one that sticks to Uncle's repair bible text, figuring his...

The other way to figure it out, is that a stock empty WO/W deuce weighs about 13,500 lbs divided by 10 tires in contact with the ground.... Approximate weight is 1350 lbs per tire, divided by 50 lbs tire pressure gives us 27 square inches per tire ground...

Lobanz:
The usual suppliers can get you the parts, try White Owl Parts, Eastern Surplus, OD Iron, Memphis or Boyce. I've had good luck with the Kivetts at White Owl on my repair parts needs. The flywheel to crankshaft bolts are one use only, so do get the new...

You never cease to amaze me as to what you pull out of that bag of tricks of yours..... DO you do anything other then OD iron in the way of a job, as you do seem to be omnipotent and omnipresent......

:-DI would suggest a side mount or rear mounted pole, on the corner of your bumper (rear), as these lights take a beating from tree limbs, that's why the deuce mounts retract to just above the cab in the down position. You will have three bolts and two wires, fitted...

Remember, these are low tech trucks.... When you get into the rear main seal, its always good to check over the clutch, pressure plate, main seal, carrier seal and throwout bearing. Better to fix any other issues while you are in there. My truck had a leaking rear main...
