    1968 Mack M123A1C 10 ton Tank Transporter

The rusty truck is a 1943 Federal 606 7-1/2 ton 6x6, a former Army Air Force C2 wrecker. I have the correct wrecker for it. The dump truck is a civilian 1950 Sterling HB2002D with chain drive and its original Cummins HRBB600 diesel.

    1968 Mack M123A1C 10 ton Tank Transporter

The 10 ton is finally home. It was three years ago that this truck was bought in New Hampshire, then moved to Connecticut, then another move to New Oxford, PA, moved again to Gettysburg, and now, finally, home to Florida. It needs some work but it will have to wait in line behind some other...

    M123A1C

That's a cool truck, have fun with it ! Since the rear winch is missing you might as well make a wrecker out of it. It should be a neat project.

I had to look all the way back to page 12 to find this thread. There is finally some news to report on the '68 M123A1C. I travelled to Pennsylvania last month to work on the truck and get it ready for the big ATCA truck show in Macungie Father's day weekend. Since most of the paint and assembly...

    1944 Federal 606 C2 Wrecker

Jeff, I spent a lot of time on Endeavour between 2000 and 2011. I was the lead mechanic in the OPF High Bay 2 Aft Shop, we were responsible for everything in the rear part of the orbiter except for the engines. I had the best job in the world, too bad it had to end. Sorry, I don't have any flags !

dodge 1/2 ton steering wheel nut size?

A die that big would be pretty expensive and it's kind of a one time use item. You might try a thread file. You don't really need to know your thread size to use it, just match the file to your existing good threads. Amazon has them. This link explains it. Thread Repair With a Thread File -...

Hello neighbor ! I try to get the Federal to a few local shows but it doesn't like to run much faster than 25 mph so I don't go far. We will have to get together.

    1944 Federal 606 C2 Wrecker

About time for another update. It has been several months now, but back in July the repairs to the Gar Wood slew selector box were completed and the box re-assembled. I did not take any pictures. With the slew selector box re-installed it revealed some more issues down stream which are...
