Feeler: Turbo kit for the Diesels

Upside is the hx35 is common and cheap, externally waste gated so we can keep the pressure down. Flows far more efficiently than any of the stock turbo options which will reduce egt's. Downsides are it has the ability to over boost the multifuel if you don't adjust the waste gate correctly. It...

Feeler: Turbo kit for the Diesels

For turbo options has anyone tried the holset hx35? Reading its turbo map and doing the math it matches very well for a 200hp goal. 200hp goal ***Mass flow 27psi ***MAP 30.9 ***Pressure ratio 2.25 ***S200, hx35.

Moving from Texas to Bellingham Washington

Thanks. Picking up the trailer this weekend and have some parts for the camper on the way as well. Exact moving date is not set in stone yet, our official 'laid off' date is still up in the air.

    Red's deuce/camper project

Air shift is a possibility. I won't be constantly shifting both transmissions. That project is later down the list for now though. Loading the camper after next weekends trip to big bend. Will actually get to start on the living area! Initial plans for the camper are cheap, and necessary...

A modified cross member that will bolt where the bell housing was.

    Red's deuce/camper project

Yep 2 of the 3053's. Thought about running a aux box but the cost, and complete inability to find parts, is why I went away from one. Although parts for the 3053 trans are not common, they are cheap and durable. Having the input shaft cut and splined to accept a fixed yoke. Will either run a...

    Red's deuce/camper project

Funny how both transmissions in reverse makes for a forward gear. Crawl ratio between 2 transmissions in 1st and the tcase in low makes for roughly a 72:1, compared to the stock 12:1 (not including axles). Power loss to a second transmission will happen, question is how much?

    Red's deuce/camper project

Diagram of the drive train or the shift patterns? Drive train will go engine-trans1-trans2-transfercase. Available shift patterns: (trans1:trans2) 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:5 2:1, 2:2, 2:3, 2:4, 2:5 R:1, R:2, R:3, R:4, R:5 Etc through all 5 gears. For normal driving the first transmission will be...

    Red's deuce/camper project

Basically 25 forward gears and 5 reverse. For most driving the front transmission will be in 4th (1-1) with the rear transmission being the main box.

    Red's deuce/camper project

Lol no its a different upgrade. I'm installing a auxiliary transmission. Modifying the input shaft on a stock deuce trans, make some mounts, and new drive shafts. Including the cost of the trans it's about 1200 bucks. Provides the original overdrive ratio, a roughly .6 second overdrive, and a...

    Red's deuce/camper project

Looks like the transmission upgrade will have to wait. Gonna cost about 7-900 bucks to complete it, and I'd rather have that cash as a bit of a buffer when I move. Will have the radiator back on friday.

    Red's deuce/camper project

It's been running and driving without issue. What started this maintenance week was replacing the air compressor and its belt. Which led to tightening up the lower radiator hose on the pump, then noticed the alt belts were worn out...... Always something haha. But, it's cheap and easy to work on...

    Red's deuce/camper project

Going through the truck doing regular maintenance this week. New air compressor is installed, new belts. Getting the radiator repaired (overflow line is cracked) and will go ahead and modify the fan shroud to clear the power steering pump while its out. Went ahead and changed the coolant filter...

M1010 for my daughter the field biologist

If she is carrying a few weeks worth of gear and you want her to be able to access the sleeping area without getting outside the vehicle a full size SUV or van is your best option. Then comes the question of a trailer for the cargo, is she comfortable driving with a trailer in tow offroad? If...

Moving from Texas to Bellingham Washington

Haha pretty much all but the east coast. Looks like I'll have an M105 in tow. Leaving most of my furniture behind in the house (renting it out), but still have too much stuff to throw into the shelter and still be able to sleep there without a trailer. A friend of mine up there is letting me...
