I've used airsoft bb's in some tires and pcc slime (puncture control compound) in humvee tires with great results for balancing. Used the pcc stuff with the runflats and no problems driving.
Fairly productive weekend. Got the truck inspected Saturday and today finished about half of the exhaust work. Enlarged to a 4" pipe and have it routed between the cab and batteries on the passenger side. Its a tight fit with 4" tubing.
Small amount of trimming in the battery bay but not...
The remote mount reservoir arrived today. Easy install and plenty of hose to mount it wherever you want. I decided the firewall to keep it standard with my other truck. This is what I meant by closing up the master cylinder. Seal the hydraulics, bad engineering to introduce air (the vent) to a...
Any noticeable difference running the 15 top/bottom compared to the 10/20? I only did the quick adjustment on the other 5 wheels and (for now) have that drum running on just the one adjuster. Just a quick trip around the block with it like that and the brakes are much improved. Also didn't...
Good to hear, that's the goal with those lights. Will add a set of lights in the rear to help with backing up at a later date.
Was going to begin installing the muffler today (single 4") but decided to hold off for now. Not sure if I want to stay with the stack, or reroute the exhaust to the...
Diesel engines will use WMO/WVO once the fuel is warmed up to make it flow easier through the fuel system. It's not so much the engine that needs to be looked at for a multifuel design, it's the fuel system (with the exception of running gasoline in the mix). The other concern would be the...
Depends on what your plans are. The larger NDT's (11r20"s?) from the newer trucks will give you a slightly better top speed and keep the original look.
quality work. Why not use the rear winch to pull stuff into the bed (cable above the bed, not under)?
Good spot for the controls, gives the operator protection in case the line breaks.
Contacted one of the parts vendors about the adjustment cam, looking to see if he can get a used one off of a parts truck. Also ordered the remote reservoir for the master cylinder and the front bumper extensions for the winch mount. I have 3 electric winches in the garage (16k, 12k, and 4.5k, 2...
You will need the power steering before a front locker goes in, unless you can turn the truck when it's at a stand still.
I had a painful reminder with the thumb and the steering wheel, still not working right after a week haha.
Out here we have an offroad park in Stanton but most of the trails are too small, designed for 4 wheelers/dirt bikes. Got spoiled while I was stationed in Utah, legal offroad trails EVERYWHERE with varying difficulty and length.
When we get a 4 day weekend we could meet at Big Bend. Scenic...
Got the lug nut freed and removed the wheel/hub/drum assembly.
Looks like the adjustment bolt is the only problem. Doubt I can get it local so looks like I'll be ordering that with the remote reservoir now.
