    Deuce muffler option

Running a 4" exhaust out the rear of the truck with a "diamond eye performance" muffler. Decible reading in the cab with all the windows open is 69db at idle, and 84db cruising at 50mph. If the exhaust is ran to directly behind the cab (no stack) without a muffler the turbo screams like a banshee.

Drove the truck to the shooting range this weekend.

    Red's deuce/camper project

Went to the shooting range this morning. The RSO there loves the truck, always asking about it haha.

    m35a2-a3 comparision

It's not so much the cost of the "upgrades" that was considered, it's more of who offered the best 'incentives' to those making the decisions. Both the A2 and A3 have their benefits and can be upgraded. If you're more mechanically inclined the A2 is a better option. If you want to buy a deuce...

    El Paso area October 4-5th?

Anybody up for a get together or offroad/camping trip that weekend? Looks like I'll be driving there that weekend and would like to meet up with some more of the MV crowd. Also planning pick up some wheels/tires and seats :-)

    Red's deuce/camper project

Waiting on the two main problems with projects. Time, and money haha. By the end of the month the parts will be here for the 395's upgrade along with some interior stuff. Going to paint the floorboards/firewall using the BAER paint mixed with the hollow ceramic 'micro beads'. Might even do the...

    Red's deuce/camper project

Thanks. Before I install the power steering I'd like to have the 395's on the truck with MRAP wheels. Those will be on by the end of September if things go according to plan. Then it's time for power steering. Need to locate a steering column I could use, power steering pump, and a fluid...

Any suggestions for pre filter for external fuel pump

I run CAT advanced filters on my 05 duramax, cost a little extra but they do a great job filtering the system. Will be installing the same spin on filter setup with the m35a2. The filter and mount that I use are a 1"x12 thread pitch. Able to get the mount for about 40-50 bucks. If you're not...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I'll ask my friend, he took a short video while I was driving. The pictures of the kids were taken while I was eating. Looked outside and saw two little kids sitting on the driver side step with their parents taking the pics.

    Nasty Fuel System

When it's gunk (for lack of a better term) bio diesel works as a great cleaner. When you're dealing with algae and bugs (what the picture looks like) bio diesel will compound the problem and turn it into a nightmare. Better to clean the tank by hand, clean or replace fuel lines/filters, run a...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Drove mine to Cici's pizza and the shooting range this weekend, got lots of looks and questions about it. Couple pictures taken in the parking lot with kids crawling on it hahaha.

    Red's deuce/camper project

Thank you. Won't know for sure with clearance for about 6-8 weeks when I'm planning to order the 395's, then I'll take it offroad and find out. If it does hit the system is able to move quite a bit because of the 3ft long flex pipe and the hangers. Hard to tell in the first picture but the 90...

    Red's deuce/camper project

Well exhaust is ready. Took it for a drive today without hearing protection, nice upgrade. Used a sound meter app on my phone, reading 69-70db at idle, 78-79 around town with the turbo whistling, and 84-85db cruising at 50mph with both vents and all 4 windows open. That's with the phone sitting...

Current exit until the 90 degree angle arrives. More hangers for the exhaust as well.

    Red's deuce/camper project

True, would look similar to the newer 5 tons with that setup as well. I drove it Monday with the exhaust exiting behind the cab. Tone was a little bit quieter but the turbo was like a banshee good lord haha. Definitely not a good setup. That is without bring it up in a stack, just exiting behind...
