Wrecker Bumper - What are these holes for????

RE: Bumper - What are these holes for???? The holes look like they came in the bumper, not add-ons. The two small holes in the lip of the bumper(center) look like something was mounted there? James G.

Wrecker Bumper - What are these holes for????

I am adding a step to the 543's bumper, I have noticed two sets of holes straddling the frame horns, they are about 1/2 inch. in diameter and 13.5 inches apart on both sides of the bumper. There is also a set of 1/4 inch holes centered over the winch cutout on the top and bottom lip of the...

I was looking at the M543's engine tag. It has a rebuild tag stamped rebuilt by MMD,92/2/7. There is no manufacturers name on the engine tag. Is the manufacturers name cast anywhere on the motor? And what/where is MMD? THanks, James G.

    Towbar Parts?

My parents have run up on a 5 Ton wrecker near their home in Mississippi. They know the owner so one of my brothers went over to look at it. He said it looks just like mine, and they are both green, he is not much for details. Anyway my dad mentioned I was getting some chain clamps for my...

    Valve Question

RE: compression Someone on the forum earlier called it a MEP 13, I don't know if this is right or not? It has a Wisconsin-Robin 6 hp single cylinder diesel motor running a 3.1KW generator. The red cap covers a tube used to add fuel to prime the engine. Any help is appreciated. James G.

    Valve Question

Tried the thumb over the injector hole, no compression at all!!!! The rockers and springs are moving up and down equal distances, I guess the only thing left are bad rings on the piston? I checked the only local diesel shop that looks at anything but trucks, they only want , a shop mininum...
