A deep well socket will take them off. Unscrew the plug wires from the top of the plug. (Sometimes they don't want to budge and you may end up taking unscrewing the plug) Then unscrew the plug like you would any other spark plug. It's really simple actually.
Go to g741.org and look around there. That is a M37 dedicated website and I know there are a few guys in your neck of the woods on the site that might be able to help you.
If everything is hooked up right you should get crank with out the on switch on you just wont get spark which you found out. The fact that you are dead to me states that your batteries are shot. Even if you did fry the VR you still should be able to crank and even start the truck heck you can...
The voltage regulator will not have any effect on the starter or the lights. Those will work with out the VR if the batteries are in good shape. Did you hooke the batteries up properly? The should go from chassy to the - of the first battery then the + of the first battery to the - of the...
IMHO I wished the Army had stuck with the M211 and modernized it as they did the M35s. I think the truck rides better, had a little better off road ability and yeah the lines of the truck were cool too. I'm sorry I sold mine, but at the time it was the right thing to do...
You reminded me....there are two types of M serries GMC owners...those that have a leaky exhust manifold and those that will... :D I never did get mine to stop leaking..... :(
Man makes me wish I still had my 211. I've owned both a M35 and a M211 and if given a chance to get another of each one I'd have to say I would pick the 211.
Good looking truck. Keep us posted with it's restoration.
To be more specific in my research the front is a Dana 44F which gets refered to by many as a Dana 44HD (or Heavy duty) From what I can tell it is the Dana 44 diff inside a Dana 60 axle housing with the 60 axle shafts. A stout axle to say the least.
Also in my research the 44F was used...
Will the axle parts interchage between an WC and an M serries truck? The reason I ask is because there are many M37s out there and many have been changed to higher gears so you might find a set out of a M37 (if the will interchange) for cheep.
6A 124 ARC 92 AVN 13....... 6A= 6th Army, 124 ARC = 124th Army Reserve Command (or ARCOM) 92 AVN = 92 AVaition Company Vehicle #13.
Here is what I found on the web. "April 1, 1971 became a Chinook unit assigned to the 124th ARCOM, Fort Lawton, Washington. The 92nd Aviation Company was...
I have owned both the M211 GMC and a M35 Kaiser (Reo) and if I ever get another duce it will be the GMC variety. They are just great trucks. They ride better than the M35s and once you get the brakes working they will stop you on a quarter. (Big trucks don't stop on dimes..lol) Also the...
Is your A1 stock or modified? What I'm asking is does it have the stock in the tank electric fuel pump or has it been modified to the A2 mechanical fuel pump? If the electric fuel pump then check to make sure it's pumping enough fuel and a steady stream. I had one that would pump in spurts and...
