what should i do. drive or haul it.

I think $3-5 is still a realistic rate.. diesel is up. I won't pay that, but that's what they 'offered'. I had a 23,000lb Genie boom delivered from H-burg to front door for $180. They are going to get a call :) Crappy part is that the EUC and the 10 day window really limits your choice of...

what should i do. drive or haul it.

For a hauler be prepared for $4-$5 per mile. I got a quote for $400 for just a 75 mile haul (from this board). If you are in the middle of Wy I don't recall much need to stop outside the cities. Get it on the road, plan a trip that has several way stops not to far apart and have the number...

Florida - CDL - Your 5 Ton - And You

As for CDL in Florida, why? Official Website Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles CDL Exemptions The following persons are exempt from the requirements to obtain a commercial driver license...

Florida - CDL - Your 5 Ton - And You

While these posts are very well thought out I have to add my opinion that if you had Antique/Historical plates that don't think a lot of the decals/taxes are going to apply. PA's IFTA pub states: http://www.dmv.state.pa.us/pdotforms/fact_sheets/fs-pabv.pdf The IRP applies to vehicles that...

Florida - CDL - Your 5 Ton - And You

How many time do you think LEO/weigh station has been lied to? Thats why your pleas fall on deaf ears... they have 'heard it all'. Some States (Cali, for example) are MUCH more restrictive than say, PA. A State CAN require you to get a CDL even for private vehicles (this is the same idea...

    Lucas oil additive

Biggest red flag? The Military FORBIDS the use of any additive. None, zero, zippo. I would think that the owner of the largest fleet of vehicles in the US (In 2009 the largest civvy truck fleet is AT&T that lists 77,480 Class 1-4 trucks, vans and SUVs). There are 160,000+ HUMMVs, and 80,000+...

    Lucas oil additive

Unless temps get above 200F+ the sulpher is inert and will not get acidic (you also need water in the oil) in a transmission. This is pretty much a known fact. There are really only three additives that reduce metal on metal wear that are added to oil. Zinc, Sulfur and Phosphorus. These...

    Lucas oil additive

Teflon will not stick to anything unless its 1. glued on or 2. melted on. There are obvious issues with #1, and #2 requires 700+F temps to melt. Any motor goo is at best going to simply add to the normal additives already in the engines. Unless LUCAS is going to publish what they are using...

    m35a2 insurance... need advice

Only thing I found Geico good for was its $30 a year cheaper for my motorcycle. Progressive was $212 Geico is $180. They did list a multicar discount as $82! WOW. Gonna try Travelers (doubtful) but I am going to try a local agent and see if they have more companies to submit to.

    Lucas oil additive

Do you have a bulletin or something? No manufacturer recommends ANY additives.... only spec'd API oils.

    m35a2 insurance... need advice

Because you were within the policys limit. Most guys use the trucks off road, or with cargo, or more than to-from events. Also you were using the collision portion, not the liability... they turned around and sued the old lady and got back cost+. They like that.

    Lucas oil additive

So mystery goo will fix compression problems (bad ring = blowby, correct? ) If 50% is good, then 100% is gooder.. I say filler 'er up this stuff!

    GL was easy!

SO far so good with the GL thing. Nothing like the horror stories that some have mentioned.... but things still can go south on me. I really, truly don't think people understand how an AUCTION works. E-BAY != AUCTION!!!!! Say that 1000 times and you'll be ahead of the game. Heck, I go to...

I want to go back to '66 aka RETRO Deuce!

Most of the links were very general. Whats up with the exhaust reroute? Can I take the turbo off and still have a decent running motor? I guess the mirrors are gonna have to be bought, as are the 'proper' lights... the kinda look like the WWII lights I have now.

I want to go back to '66 aka RETRO Deuce!

Incoming deuce is a 1966 Kaiser/Jeep M35. Its currently up to what I can only assume is the lastest specs. I would like to take the thing back to the condition it was in in 1966 (dad was in 'Nam for 66-67) so this is kinda my tribute to him. Are there any significant issues to doing this...

    The deuce and the HOA....

In DE the water line is at least under the frost line. Granted where our house is in DE its mostly sand and the water table is just a few feet down.... Let see, a Durango at 6k with 4 tires is just about the same Lbs/Sqft as an M35 with 10 tires. You HOA president is sugar coating the fact...

Top Few reasons for selling a deuce?

That there opens a lot reasons why not to own one.. You have thin skin and can't stand people asking dumb questions. You live have imprisoned yourself inside an HOA Local tree huggers hate black smoke There are no good reasons to sell a deuce, just YOUR reasons.

Top Few reasons for selling a deuce?

My first M32 is still waiting EUC (1 day on the counter :( ) but I do have a CCKW (the great, great grand daddy of the M35). I can fix just about any problem on my CCKW/jeep with a 7/16, 1/2 and 9/16th wrench, a flat blade and a phillips screwdriver. Its simply gas, air, and fuel. Would I...

    GL Gripes....

This is a funny GL condition: You also agree to accept service of process from such courts by certified or registered mail. hahaha If they want to sue you they make it in their favor (generally you are served in person) but that would cost them $$$$. The GL 'agreement' is full of holes...

    GL Gripes....

Here is another way to 'splain it: One way a court can claim personal jurisdiction is known as "minimum contacts," which refers to the fact that a business or person with sufficient contacts with a particular state can be dragged into court there even though they don't live in that state or...
