I think you are in for a HUGE disappointment on this.. it says on their home page:
COLLECTIBLE VEHICLE INSURANCE
on another page:
Antique & Classic Vehicles including Trucks and Motorcycles
Collectible Special Interest and Modern Classics
Street Rods, Customs and...
If that were close to me I would still pick it over... I see lots of parts that could use a close up look to see if they are just rusted or pitted.. a good media blasting will cure a lot of problems.
If the metal is pitted then the parts are not really worth much. I see a few things (and can come up with a list of things that should be scavenged).. but again, pitted metal is of little use to anyone unless they like the bondo.
If it has a data plate I would take it (collecting data plates...
All the wear parts are available... with crankshafts being the most hard to find part. Most used cranks are gonna be a few sizes under as they were reground.
The L-134 was used in the CJ2As and lots of parts are around.
Blocks and heads are easy to find, but generally in un-rebuild shape...
API Category GL-1 (inactive*) designates the type of service characteristic of manual transmissions operating under such mild conditions of low unit pressures and minimum sliding velocities, that untreated oil may be used satisfactorily. Oxidation and rust inhibitors, defoamers and pour...
That was my point. Anything that likes GL-1 (straight mineral oil) is gonna love GL-5/MT-1.
ALL non-synthetic oils are the same base component. Its just the extra additive packages they toss in for more modern components (tighter clearances, etc).
How anyone can justify not using GL-5/MT-1 all around is truly amazing. Can *ANYONE* show me these rotted out synchro's that are supposed to dissolve when in MT-1 spec lube? A picture is all I ask.
I really wouldn't expect a 60+ year old MV to be as 'off road capable' as you think. One reason they lasted was not because of the strength of the chassis, but becuase the Army had the parts to throw at it every time it broke.
Jeeps are like that. WWII jeeps are pretty fragile, but in...
Did you buy that with the intent on actually getting a WWII jeep? There are lots of CJ parts and the body has two very questionable welds where it looks like a splice might have been done.
If its just a ride, then have fun.
As for your tranny... Brent Mullins is in TX for parts, and AJP is...
Is it just out of frame or is there no oil filter on this engine? That's the wrong engine, also (should not have a PVC valve and early factory trucks would not have the oil breather on the filler).

Claims to have 90+ DUKWs... none are in military trim. Other than the hull its there is probably nothing DUKW on them but they might have parts and get a lot of leads from passengers that 'know where one is'.
IIRC there is a place in FL that has/sells DUKWs.. also in CA.
Problem is that they are little more than hulls.... finding a 50-80% complete DUCK/CCKW/jeep/trailer is easy... its the last 20% (anchors, surf shield, seat etc) that make or break a restoration.
Everyone gets excited about 'air...
Well if that link is correct then I doubt the claims are true.
Take this for example:
1942 CCKW 2 1/2 Ton Serial # 89
Claims it is a 'VERY ORIGINAL' CCKW. Yet it has the wrong bed, and either the cab was swapped or the guages were... as a civvie guaged CCKW would have the early 1574 cab...
A few years ago some one was selling a DUKW that claimed it was original off the production line and kept by GM as a sample. It looked complete (VERY complete) and he wanted $100k+ for it.
Any one remember something like that?
Couple of important points:
MODERN engines have 5000-7000mile oil change interval. 3000 miles changes was a Jiffy lube jingle. The *only* time a manufacturer specifies less and 5k is forr 'extreme duty' use. No, that ain't your car.
TO the mechanic that says the oil is dirty.... um, its...
They will not have a 'recommended' pressure, just a MAX INFLATION.
My 7.5x20s max out at 85psi yet the GMC placard says for the standard load 55psi is recommended, more PSI if carrying more weight.
Tire pressure, motor oil and religion... no safe way to discuss any of them :D
They poked a hole in the dash for a water temp gauge.. the humanity! Good thing that dashes are available (A chevy dash should work in a bind)
Since this is a very early truck it should be properly restored.
Grab a copy of AR 850-5 the National Emblem on the hood is a bit small.
