    Vietnam vehicles

Could be Clark 290 M's. Also, they look similar to JD 8010 / 8020's and the WA-14 and WA-17 model JD's of that era. These tractors were designed and tested for a dozer blade option.

    I found a 42 chevy 6x6

This truck was discussed on Steel Soldiers around April 2009. It was argued over at that time when it was for sale. Someone on site contacted the owner and he posted on SS about the truck. It is a 6x6 and what is hard to see in the shadows supposedly is the right rear outside dual is missing.

What is the most reliable Deuce?

I'm still wondering what jobs you expect to perform with the truck you want. In your "about me info" you list your occupation as carpenter. There is the age old mantra that bigger is always better. Whatever it is. I believe that a tool fitting the job best is the correct answer for equipment on...

    First post, N.E. ohio

If you were a little more north at your AO you would need fording and flotation kits just to visit your motorpool!

    M1028A2 conversion question

When "junkyarding" for a dually pickup rear axle, think motor home width. Should be lots more distance from the inside dual to the springs each side. Unless the wider axle was specifically ordered, seldom done as an available option, a GM chassis cab truck will have the axle you are trying to...

What is the most reliable Deuce?

This M36C at one time had been listed in SS classifieds for sale. It's already in Canada.

    bobbing 1st deuce

You will need at least a small gap between cab and bed. Lengthening my driveshaft 5.75" allows for the M105 bed to be located as far forward as possible with but a .75" gap from the cab mount. There is not much space between the cab mount and bed and without cutting/modifying the bed. I used a...

    1100/20 xl tires

The 1100 XZL's turned my 55 mph trucks into ones that run 63 mph gps verified. Speedo if off about 10%. The speedometer adapter for 1100 tires is as hard to find as hen's teeth.

    bobbing 1st deuce

This is exactly why I lengthened my driveshaft 5.75". I did not trim the trailer box and got it as far forward as possible.

    Detroit 4-53 in a deuce?

Original poster hasn't logged in since 2005. Still a very good thread. There is a guy 10 miles from me with a 12V71 sitting in the corner of his garage. The hydraulic power steering is a plus too!

    Deuce cab lights

The Canadian Deuce is common to have roof and side markers. You can see them clearly in this video. Listening to the Detroit Diesel and Allison automatic is cool also.
