No, I really dont know for sure. Guessing about 12 ton. Only about 300 yards to move dirt though. Between 25 and 30 loads. Would have been more but had excavator issues. I got paid my quoted price, so all is well by me. Maybe another day's work on this job to come.
The truck really showed her worth today. No leaks or issues of any kind. Hydraulics actually got smoother and quieter. Fuel usage was great too. Only 15 gallons with 75 miles and six hours of off road, on site work. She made me proud. Seems that truck was well taken care of before they let it...
Good to know. I am a bit nervous. I drove m817 back in the 80s but as a youth never cared about cost of breakdowns, even though I never had even one. Especially with government's unlimited funds. Now I get to foot the bill and this truck has way more stuff that seems could go wrong. Time will tell.
Well, thanks to so many for their kindness and helpful direction on so many issues, since aquiring my M929A2, it finally gets to show it's colors (other than the beautiful tan) this Friday. Only a small, on site, one but that's how I wanted to put it to the test anyway. Gonna move...
It usually won't run but only a minute or so when pumping up the lift pump by hand, if it will run at all. The pump is on the engine so if there is a leak between the pump and the tank it will not be able to prime and draw fuel as it is only sucking up air.
Well, last week I braved tearing back into that unloader again. It was gummed up alright. This time I sanded both parts with 400 grit sandpaper and used Rem Oil as a lubricant. It shouldn't gum up. I figured if an M-16 can run on full auto with the stuff and not sieze up than that unloader valve...
I definitely see your viewpoint. I just fail miserably on gambles. If it's a 50/50 chance to win, I always lose! Example: I just picked up 8 tires for my truck Sunday. Every one of them, when looking for the date code, I had to flip because the date code was on the other side. It's just me and...
I think GP's ironclad guarantee is a lot better than how GL only said if said truck runs or don't run. I wanted one for years but that gamble kept me away. After GP started moving the trucks I felt at least not as weary to the point I was willing to bid a "real" amount. With GL, I would only bid...
I got the new governor yesterday and three of the check valves. The wet tank check valve is 1/2" m/f and the other tanks are 3/4" m/f. I ordered all 1/2" but the seller sent me all 3/4". I took the one off of the wet tank first before noticing I got the "wrong" valves and that is when I noticed...
Well, I assume it was the ground on the control box as lights have been working normal since messing with them. The audible differences I heard were indeed my hearing as when I turned my head back and forth the tones volume and tone changed as doing so. That tone is an odd one as I cant even...
Well, sorry to hear that it was locked engine. I have always loved the 5 ton dumps. It's what I drove as an E3, E4. Old school but loved that it was power steering vs. the old deuces. Is it an A0, A1, or A2? If it has ABS I want that rearmost air relay for sure. I put a pic on my want ad. Give...
Well, that would be nice. My volume tone differences are just random and rapid. Thought it was my hearing at first as it is a bit off too, but after reading your post I suppose it might not just be me.
Jim
Hey, that makes sense considering the alarm has volume and tone variables. I guess I will focus on it's ground and if it still messes up look for a new box. Thank you.
Another question, I have some really good gasket material to make one but was concerned it could blow out. Are these tanks/reservoirs under pressure or just flow?
Good to know. Thinking I should get that next. Might as well considering how this air system was left out to dry(pun intended), but never could with the tanks never drained.
