    Diesel,tp-40, lift here,etc markings

TM's may have them..... I think there is a "pattern" book to paint the vehicle with, but not sure about the stenciling.

    RED diesel fuel?

That is DYED diesel...... OFF ROAD USE ONLY!!!!! In Texas if the DPS dip your tank and find it, ITS A HUGE FINE!!!! Use it in your tractor or diesel generator IF you have the CUCV registered with the state DO NOT DRIVE on public roads..... You may never get stopped, but if the police are having...

    m1009 4wd help

The military TM's (free on this site) are 1000% better than ANY civilian manual. Which manual did you look in? The -10 and -20 will not have the info. The -34 is the direct support manual (highest level of support) You should everything you need in it. The military designed the mauals for the...

you mention a "swishing" ? sound whn trying to move and first failure Did you check the tcase shifter? Might of just slipped into neutral???? Check the linkages, wiggle the shifter, check the linkages again. TH400 usually just don't go, unless they go BOOM!!! Good luck and shop around....

    Burning B20 in my M1009

o.k. so this idea of saving money is intriguing..... What is the difference per gallon in your area between ULSD and B20? I hven't considered bio anything yet, but as diesel goes above 3.30 around if the savings are there...... I'm gonna reconsider

    Gen 1 light on

O.k. found a Delco 1105500 at rare electric for $189 plus shipping, no core charge. New unit, not reman. That looks like a good with all the prices I've seen in other searches. I'm trying to find out the manufacturer of the unit. But I will probably order at least one...

Rear Tire Carrier Installed On My M1009

Gonna be a bubble buster on this one.... It's not a factory piece for the military CUCV.... The spare mounted on the inside passenger area to the wheel well and upper portion of bed rail. I'll see if I can get a picture of mine and post. It's a nice piece, but in an "unfriendly" moor pool, stuff...

    Rim and tire set up

guess I'm just about the details..... I'm good with the correct size.... I agree if you got too big, you'll eventually run into steering box issues. These trucks are inherrently bad on breaking the gearbox off the frame without some bracing.

    Sylvania Silverstar Installation

I "was once an electrician" and now I'm not!!! electrical issues on these old trucks are a MAJOR headache and as you fix one another crops up.. I have considered rewiring the entire vehicle, but I'm having way too much driving to put out of commission for as long as it would take me to...

    Gen 1 light on

Thanks sounds like a plan! didn't realize the isolated ground were that much more. The only difference in the isolated is the fiber wafer applied to the post correct? could I purchase a "standard" alternator, insert wafer and save a few bucks?

    Sylvania Silverstar Installation

I been tracing the headlight wiring each time I blow a fuse.... have found some "worn" spots but nothing showing stripped insulation... I sure it will be the last place I look!! LOL

    Rim and tire set up

Matt I thought the Hummer was a 37x13.5x16.5? and your running a 16.5 wide tire on a 7 inch rim? REALLY?
  15. OL AG '89

    Gen 1 light on

Gen 1 is drivers side the standard ground alt? or the isolated ground? without revisiting the TM I get confused...... might just purchase new (rebuilt) to keep me going and pickup a rebuild kit so if(when) #2 goes I have an alternate plan.

    Sylvania Silverstar Installation

Do the silverstar draw any additional amps? I have standard lightd but am having issues with fuse blowing.... don't want to overload anymore

    vehicle security

I use the chain and an alarm..... I figure anything else is redundant haven't changed cores out .... yet maybe one day I dont keep anything of value inside truck so they will open doors alarm goes off figure they spend 30 seconds rifleing through the nothing in there and move on If I'm lucky...

    Cold as ice!

Are you cycling glowplugs? if it doesnt start first try, shut off cycle glow plugs and try again Don't crank too long each cycle you should start no problem after 3rd or 4th cycle If still nothing try to let it cook on the block heater for a day or so might try a thermal blanket in engine...

    Steering wheel chain

security is the correct answer TM says the same!! Also show mounting location for each vehicle

    Rim and tire set up

that's a LOT of meat. I think the stock tire is 10 or so wide. My 12.5's are still inside the fender wells, but just barely!! You will need a BIG gain in HP to turn those in the thick stuff or if your crawling to go over rocks.... Not sure the 6.2 that's 25 years old would handle that increase...
