take pictures duing the replacement, sure this has been documented before, but would like to see how you do and then give us an opinion of dificulty of replacement.
WOW a 14" body lift!!!!
I'd love to see those pictures.
terryh can you post them?
Did you basically build a 2nd frame to support the body about the original frame rails?
You're gonna really enjoy the "NEW" truck with the lift. Mine is 4" with 33's and I think it's what the vehicle should of started life as. It rides great on the pavement and even better ofroad, just tall enough to clear most anything I choose to go over.
Whitey I lifted mine for functionality...
you might check the striker or the latch assemblies. I noticed on my 1009 that I can SLAM the door and then gently pull it back a little. I figure after 25 years of use these things are a little worn out.
Try slamming and then gently pulling back.
And yes it also combined with possible dried up...
o.k. so new math says 800 miles...... I'll go with that, but 800 miles without a fuelpoint in a weekend.
We have WIDE open spaces in Texas, but I can't say i've ever been that far away from fuel.
I'm still thinking the additional weight is a serious issue.
Are you planning or carrying fuel for...
You need to also consider the extra weight of 100 gals of fuel gas weight 8lbs a gallon, not sure if diesel is heavier or not, but you potential add 800lbs of "moving" weight on the truck. If you catch a hard side slop the fuel slosshing might be enough to roll you. Going up and downhill would...

Any news?
I would read the TM carefully before breaking apart connections on a 25+ yr old vehicle. I have NEVER had to bleed and radiator as described in previous post. These vehicles were meant to worked on by the avg. joe. I know, used to be a 63Y/N. We would never work on a "running"...
I idle mine for at least 20 minutes before jumping in, no matter the temperature. I figure we used to let the M113's and M-60's idle for hours on end when using for CP or out on gunnery range.
The 6.2 doesn't have a "slobber cup" so no worries.
Anybody have a story about emptying a slobber cup...
cj
I'll start from the beginning.
I think the correct temp for the 6.2 is 180 - 195. The TM has exact number.
Have you looked at that?
The engine "running" temp is not affected by outside temp. a proper operating cooling system will run at the correct temp whatever the outside temp is.
Unless...
The BAR HAS BEEN SET!!
I love the truck, would like even better in CAMO, but none the less.
VERY NICE!!!
I was considering the Herculiner, but wonder about the smell and then how it would act being shutup in 105 degree heat in Texas Summer??? wonder if it would soften up or even become tacky...
nice ride. I might contact your haule friend. I just got a M1009 in Ft. Sill, waiting on EUC to clear, but could at least get pricing from him to haul to TX.
pm me with an email address and I'll try to send the -10 and -20 to you in a zip file. I dont remember how large the file is, but I'll give it a try.
you might also try a search might find something to try
just a guess but have replace the blinker solenoid? might be overloading with headlights.
check the TM section for troubleshooting... might give some insight as well.
good luck
O.k. I feel so newb'd.....
The hubs from warn are great, just different size bolts or the warns as compared to the originals. didn't realize the entire wa bein replaced....
I took the old hubs apart, cleaned then up and workin like brand new!!
I'll keep the warn hub for just incase.
I think...
I'm dealing wih a similar problm with my M1009. I bought the 20990 from warn but the hex bolts are tiny compared to the originals. I just looked at set 9790 at oreilly and they look same except the bolts are much beefier. What's the deal? the premium set vs. the standard?:?
The 20990 bolts wont...
