Could be a tire coming apart.....
I've had tires that looked brand new start acting funky at speed, I went through everything mechanical and finally convinced my wif e to drive the truck while I followed and circled her looking at each corner to figure what was going on.....
It was real obvious...
Do you hear the glow plug relay clicking on when you turn on ignition???
sounds like you don't have any heat on the glow plug...... if even one was working the thing would attempt to fire...
have you checked voltage?
search for glowplug problems..... there are several posts that walk through...

Disconnect the hose get the adapter and then fasten them to something so their not just flying around in the engine compartment....... Look at 9-2320-289-20P for illustration on heater core..... because these don't have a lot of "factory installed options" job is not as bad as a civvy model...

Um maybe for fuel filter connections, still really vague.... check the TM
looks like it has 8 wires.... can you get the wire colors.... with that and the TM, wiring diagram you can figure anything out...

Hey lindy, If the truck had a radio by chance, slim to none, it would of been installed in a radio rack in the bed. It could of been any number of models...
Would of had a control box in the cab, to select between radios and hook mics and auxillary speaker to.
Most M1008's didn't get adios as...
Why are you moving mounts from mid to rear of vehicle?... just curious
The midmounts have less of a chance of getting *WHACKED* while winding through the trees.... IMHO
although they might not look as "cool" as the twin antennas hanging off the rear, they are just as "functional"

Now about the 45 deg "alleged" cut-out...
If you're stopping to add fluid every 20 to 30 miles.... you have to see fluid coming out somewhere..... unless it's going into the engine.... check the oil and hope its not a milky white color..... It's not a good thing to have milky white fluids in your engine....

33's are too wide to turn without damaging the outer fenderwells... I have pictures after I did it to mine... I'll post later this P.M.
I tried 33x12.5x15's and messed up without any lift.
I added a 4" lift and now have 33x13x15's Toyo M/T....... very nice and quiet on...
