The problem with tieing the antenna forward is that it can snag on stuff.... limbs, parking garage structure and then in trying to bend backwards it may break.
I'm not sure what is recommended by the installation guide. I'll see if I can find a reference....
How FAR y'all driving on a DAILY basis that you need 30+ gals of fuel??????
I carry 84 gals total, not including an extra 55 gal xfer tank (for tractor) in my GMC 3500.... I can go for two weeks...... without considering fueling up. I'm at 15 - 16 mpg in the GMC....
What kind of fuel mileage...
these speakers are for the military radio????[thumbzup]
I just like the little 4 inch aux box.... It had awsome sound
especially when it was the BC screaming at me for something.......rofl
How much total distance are you planning to go without refueling?
I've used the rule of thumb for my offshore boats.....
1/3 out, 1/3 play, 1/3 home..... never consider reserve capacity.
If you do the same with the CUCV that leaves you about 140 miles in to the "outback", 140 miles to play...
I am sure this has been covered..... but when I go to back up the CUCV and try to get off dirt onto pavement.... about 3 - 4 inches difference, truck can't move itself when going from sitting still..... have to get a rolling start....
It runs fine tooling down the road, just seems to "slip"...
300 degrees.... that seems REALLY HOT!!!!
I have a GMC 3500 and it runs at about 175 - 190 depending on load or speed...
I am curious anybody got "proof" of the 300 on a temp gauge.....
67.... It's funny, when I bought my 1st MV my wife and daughters reactions were less than stellar...... something about "you NOT parking THAT in OUR driveway are you?"......
I said nope gonna park it next door so the neighbors will look cool!!
told the daughter if she ever wrecked her truck she...
Finally fixed the brake light switch that has been "Working - Not working - Working - Not working" for several months......
didn't want someone to get too friendly with the rear of the thing..... or the local LEO to ask me " Do you know you have no Brake lights".....
I think herculiner is about $150, do it yourself for a pickup bed so......
I would think you could do it yourself for $300..... not sure what quantity you have to buy it in.
really depends on how thick you put it on... I guess..
I have thought about the rhino or herculiner and then...
I like the stealth approach. I've been planning on adding a winch, but didn't want a BIG wart on the front of the truck......
Gonna have to get a letter to Santa Claus this weekend....
Where did you get the Smitty winch and about how much?
this is a standard 6 bolt chevy rim...... ANY rim from an 70 - 80's model 1/2 ton truck, blazer will work.... local junk yard will have (should have) a stack of them...
Doesn't HAVE to be 24v..... can get 12v from bus bar in engine bay.....
or I guess if you have a 24v gauge....... Are you sure it's 24v..... remember the CUCV is 24v for the starting system..... the accessories are all "civvy" 12volt stuff.... lights, heater blower, wipers, etc....
Is this a...
I get softer grass for the yard..... can't imagine what the kids look like after playing in that stuff....
Did you hear a BIG POP when it broke or was it just a --------- ? moment ?
I like the idea of the junkyard cd player, but I'm 6'4" with my shirt on...... A little too close to the noggin for my likin......
I've seen an install using a center console..... I'm thinkin to protect my wonderful looks and avoid any unecessary bloodshed in the venicle I'll go with the console...
I own a MV therefore eveything I do is slow........
but now I feel like i'm living in the 80's AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN......
I loved the 80's......... remember the Hustle???:jumpin:
JJ you pick it up yet?
where are you getting it from a private or public source...
I've been looking for one for years, but like I said needs to be in mint condition before I even consider......
YOu gotta post pics after the recovery
repeat.... takes a while if you let the fuel "drain" all the way back to the tank.....
air doesn't pump out that fast....
If you want... AND YOUR CAREFUL....... put a little pressure on the fuel tank while doing the prime... stuff rags wrapped around air hose into opening....
maybe 5 lbs...
