Most of the GL site managers are pretty good to deal with, now the management of GL is another story.
I think you are on the correct track with swapping out the axle for a commercial unit so that you can have electric brakes and use a common civy tire and wheel combo.
As for the SF-97 verses...
From my reading of the accident reports on M939 series trucks the main cause was placed on in-experienced drivers, then the Allison transmission then lastly the dual tire configuration.
The MWO required a reduction in speed on all vehicles until the ABS brake modules were installed as well as...
Unless the Russians or Chicoms gave them stealth aircraft, they don't have any US produced stealth birds.
As previously mentioned, their training leaves a lot to be desired. I doubt that they don't have a single pilot with more than 250 hours flight time. In contrast the average US pilot in...
You can add all the flattener you want but the paint job is still going to appear glossy.
RC car bodies are painted on the inside, so the gloss you are seeing is the plastic on the outside.
A light blasting with walnut shells will dull the plastic gloss.
I've got a nitro powered boat that...
Kroil or PB Blaster on the threads and allow it to sit for a couple of days, then use an EZout to remove the brass valve remains.
Air tanks are cheap for the M105 trailer. Perhaps someone has one removed from a trailer that was scavenged for the bed and springs.
The problem with Egypt is that the United States on one hand supposedly wants a democratically elected government in the entire world, third world goat herders don’t have an idea with democracy is.
The US government has backed Mubarak since he has been friendly to both Israel as well as the US...
The bows are the supports that hold the tarp up.
The tongue weight is around 125 lbs, so it can be lifted by hand, but use the mounted jack.
What you have is a M101A2 trailer with the up-graded supports of an A3 bed. At least the outside supports. The inner wheel wells are as mentioned 45"...
You have two glad hands, one for service and the other for supply. Supply has air all the time, service only when the brake pedal is applied. Still plan on caging the brakes if the trailer has sat for a great deal of time, but don't get caught as the DOT only allows for this by tow trucks not...
On my M116a3 the chain is a plastic coated cable and is around two feet long. It has a snap hook on the end so that the length is adjustable to you safety chain hook-up.
My M101a3 uses a piece of chain and again is around two feet long with a "S" hook in the end fastened to the safety chains.
The problem with the mobile laundry units is the amount of water required to run them and that the washer, water extraction unit and dryer require 3 phase power. The replacement units recycle the water while the M85 needs 100 plus gallons of water per hour.
The M1061 trailer usually brings...
Having to fill out a EUC is kind of like watching a Scared Straight episode on TV.
Uncle Sugar somewhat wants to keep track on old military equipment. Sometimes they (the government) screw up and write the wrong demil code down and an almost new FMTV truck gets auctioned off without a EUC...
Parts are readiably available for the rears in the M915-920 series truck as well as complete drum to drum units from wrecking yards.
If it were my truck, I'd pull the drive shafts and axles and see if it's the center section or if the drums are rusted to the brake pads. Then check the transfer...
If you are concerned about having all the same wheels on both tow vehicle and trailer (which I agree with) why don't you purchase a commercial axle with electric brakes? You gain service brakes but give up the parking brake.
I'm not sure if you can just unbolt the front half of the A1 trailer...
Why don't you just swap the bodies? There are around 12 studs on the frame that attach to the bed. Easier as far as I'm concerned than breaking the u-bolts loose and still having to swap the lunette over plus the brake tubing.
What's with the bottle jack when you have a jack mounted to the passenger side fender? http://www.steelsoldiers.com/attachments/military-vehicle-road-trips/222081d1294645739-tx-deuce-s-recovery-dscf4867.jpg
I'm a little surprised that you were able to travel 700 miles without tags and not get...
The sanding residue will contain some heavy metals, primarily chrome.
My suggestion would be to cover the floor with a disposable drop cloth and possibly spray the cloth with a tackifier type product, something like a non-drying shellac to capture the bulk of the dust.
Any organic vapor...
