I just got run over by a joke,! Oh well, I thought it was an interesting combo and surprised to see how well it worked.
I should have made the NM connection!
If you look closely at the pics in the thread he linked, you will notice he had his truck setup in "economy mode". What should be noticed is that the inside dual on the front tandem is a 22.5 in combination with a 9.00x20. What is not apparent is that the rear tandem has the driveshaft removed...
There is no problem with running tubeless radial tires on a split rim. You do have to run radial tubes in them. My truck came out of the Army with a new set of Goodyear G124's. It now sports a set of Michelin XZL's. My IH dump been running radials on the front for 20 years.
We had a 70 KW with a 318 and a 74 KW with a 350 8V71. Both trucks worked well but, we always felt the 318 ran better of the 2 trucks. Never had any problems with either engine. We had some 6-71's and except for being noisy, they worked well also. Spotted this ad on another site.

Guys I know in the "rust belt' use chainsaw bar oil to protect their trucks. Any used oil will contain contaminates and will not be as effective as new oil.
Did my latest recovery at DCSC Columbus Monday. I had an 8:00 appointment and arrived at 7:30. Everything went fast and smooth. I had my items and trailer and was on the road by 8:10. GL employee "Larry" was a great help in this successful recovery mission!
Lol !!!
Well, I hope you will enjoy arguing with yourself then. I do not have a vast library but, without trouble I found this page. I'm sure there will be others among the vast amounts of GM literature that is out there.
Just a note to say that GL has done a good job for me again. I just received my 3rd Paid In Full Invoice for a purchase requiring an EUC this year. The last two I submitted on Friday after the auction, they went to BC on Monday, and I had the Paid in Full Invoice by Wednesday afternoon...
That photo link has been posted before. The engines are already scrapped and that factory was torn down 3 years ago.

This truck had a new set of Goodyear 124's when I picked it up at the base. They are 9.00x20's.
I also run Michelin 1100R20 XZL's on a couple of my trucks since I got them home. They are great!
