    New guy in PA

I've run through Lancaster a few times. Back when they were shooting the film "Witness" in that area was one time. Another time, after going through Bird-In-Hand and Intercourse, I arrived in Paradise!

Big, Blue, and Butchered but still an M26A1

I wish it was close to me. I would have to take a serious look at it if the owner wanted to sell. At 1 mpg that would almost make the best milage of the M60 look reasonable,(385 gal and 310 mile cruising range on hard surface at 20mph).

Dual wheels on front of a deuce

Spotted this truck on another site and it reminded me of the trucks in this thread. Well, it's green and got dualls on all corners. Thread needed a bump anyway!

    On the road again

Nothing like a nice shade of RED. These are for you Doc! I especially like the WD 9 with the 400 Big Cam and Mack front end.

A ways back this one was for sale in MD. Unfortunately the file with the contact info was erroneously deleted. He wanted $10.000.00 for it.

Which multi-fuel engine is the best choice?

478 C. I.(7.8 L), 305 lbs torque, and most lisings I see rate it at 134 hp but mine clearly states 140hp at 2600 rpm on the ID plate on my motor and it's NSN Report. Engine weighs about 1650lbs.

    Engine?

Here's the tag on my engine. Apparently my 1974 still has it's original power plant. Engine manufactured date is 11/74. White Engines, Inc./Hercules Engine Division. A Subsidiary of White Motor Corporation.

In need help gathering information on these old deuces

A while back one of the members on this site had this truck for sale.

    Engine?

No problems with the White motor in mine. Ran it 976 miles in 0 to 10 degree or worse weather without any engine problems except ruptured heater core. Starts super with no help on cold mornings. Most of the truck owners around here with Whites have no complaints.

    Think I can fit these???

Sources I've read say they are part of a Military program for supplying and protecting the Alaskan Tundra in the late 50's. Some others were tested in AZ in the early 60's. There is a "tractor" on display near Yuma, AZ. The is a tractor and some of the cargo trailers in a salvage yard behind...

    Think I can fit these???

Well, you could try these tires. They originally were on these vehicles long before Bob Chandler got hold of them.

    Unknown trailer ???

This kind of equipment is fairly common in small townships that have a lot of gravel roads. It's most often referred to as a "Maintainer". This is an old one. Most today have the spreaders powered through hydraulic gearboxes. The attachment points for the rear of truck are very evident in the...
