    Converting Deuce body to Dump??

I thought I would throw this into the mix. My IH 1724 Dump has two hydraulic pumps. The pto driven pump powers the dump bed. It also has a pulley driven pump on the engine that powers the snowplow attachment on the front as well as lines to the rear of the truck to operate a road maintainer. The...

    HELP! Dented my new m1008!

Looks like a GL dent! I popped dents like that out of some by shoveing a long enough 2x4 up in there that the end extends below the bedside. You can wiggle it around some and even hit the bottom of the board from outboard to inboard to get some of the dent. Sometimes just driving the board up in...

    Need some creative thoughts...

5-7 minutes probably too short to touch on The Battle of Attu Island, Alaska, the only land battle fought on United States soil in WW II. Often referred to as the "Bloodiest Battle". http://www.hlswilliwaw.com/aleutians/Aleutians/html/aleutians-wwii.htm

    Traveling

Canada requires a "Canadian Proof of Insurance" card for any vehicle. If you are asked for it or are in an accident and don't have one, that would be trouble. Just ask your insurance agent and they will give you a card for Canada with your information on it.

    Heater idea for recovery

The ice on the windshield formed time and time again. Even though it wasn't snowing I had to run the wipers to try and keep it clear. Every time a truck went by it tossed more crap on the glass and would sometimes freeze immediately. At times I stopped when it got to hard to see and would use...

    Heater idea for recovery

Visibility is important! That is not snow on the windshield. It is ice.

    Heater idea for recovery

Various items can be powered from the 12v DC oulet in most portable power packs. They are for more than just a jump start.

    Spare tire on front

I don't know what lights you have planned for the grille guard but, I did run some good amber lights with my front tire carrier. Take a look under the tire in the pic which was taken from up above so you know they were visible forward. Included pic without tire also. Old pics!

    cucv 1008 np208 to np205 swap

I've been thinking of putting a late version 203,(with the improved gears/chain) I have in my 1008. It has the Specialized Automotive Engineering kit in it which I bought from Bob Chandler years ago. The 203 gives you the pto option that the 205 has and the 208 does not. The best part is I have...

    Ever built a "shorty" deuce?

Looks like a good candidate for lockouts on the front and forward drive axles. Only lock them in if you think traction will be a problem.

Haul PAYS $1000! Need BOB Deuce del Socal to Amarillo area

I used to take LTL's out of the steel mills a lot back in the 70's. Some brokers would sit days waiting for a decent load but I always kept busy. Stayed within 400 miles of home most of the time. It wasn't unusual for me to have stuff for Ford, GM, and Link Belt on the same load.
