Anyone know what the proper operating oil pressure range is for a OA331 Gasser Motor? It's for my 1953 Reo M35. My exisiting oil pressure guage shows 0-60 PSI and starts off at around 35 PSI Cold and then drops to around 20 PSI after warmed up and driving around for a while.
I was looking at...
Heres the problem. I just replaced both my fuel sending unit and fuel gauge and can't get it to work properly. I've already replaced the wiring and checked the grounding. Furthermore, I connected the sending unit to the gauge and jumped a ground wire as well. When the sending unit is set to...
I just bought (2) 6TL Batteries from Interstate Batteries here locally in Orange County, So Cal. They cost me $137.99 + Tax. My M35 had two car batteries in it before and it started fine but were bouncing around in the battery box because they were too small. Either way, I love the 6TL's...
Right on. Guess I'll stick with the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" saying for now. Haven't had any problems with it. Just wanted to be pro-active and find issues before they become real problems. Thanks for the advice. Just thought it was a bit strange since the TM & LO that I have made...
I started checking all of the lubrications on my M35A2. Changed the oil, differential fluids, lubbed the zerk fittings, checked the winch, etc... Checked the steering box and found that it looks like it has been packed with a dark grey or black colored grease. Is this right? I checked the LO...
Okay, Just got my RT-524 from PvtJarhead today. Very nice fellow by the way. Radio looks good to me, just got a broken handle on the left side. Not sure if it was like that already, or if it was due to shipping damage. Box looks good though. But thats beside the point.
Anyways, I have the...
Wow! That looks awesome. Can't say I've ever seen that before. But, honestly don't know anything about that setup. If anyone else knows, please feel free to chime in.
Is that street legal? What keeps the tracks in place on the tires? Can't really see any grooves or guides on them.
Would...
Can anyone help me figure this out. I replaced my old and shotty "POS" forward Wiring Harness with a new one. During the replacement, I found that the the previous, and well thrashed harness had splices in it from kingdom come... Anyways, after I installed the new harness I found a problem...
Thanks for all the feedback! I have to smaller car batteries sitting in my battery box with no real way to tie them down. Hence the reason for the OEM style batteries. I have the hold down top plates and hooks. Just need to find the nuts and washers (No big deal though.) Anyways, thanks...
Does anyone have a crossover to any particular brand/model of battery that replicates the same size/shape/capacity as the OEM Military Battery?
I don't recall what the NSN is for the stock battery.
Perhaps, PepBoys, AutoZone, Kragen Auto Parts, Napa, Etc... Part Number?
It's for my 1953...
Does anyone have a NSN or NAPA Part # for the following?
OA331 Gasoline Motor - Rear Main Seal
Front and Rear Differential Drive Shaft Seals
I've looked in my parts books, but for some reason, I can't find these part #'s.
Thanks!
Barrman, I see the valves that you show. My truck is a storage yard because its too big to fit in front of my shop like the other one. Anyways, I'll double check mine. Looks like I need to get a valve put on the oil filler. Looking at my previous pic, its seems like I do have one on the...
Thanks for all the opinions. For right now, It'll be for show. But if I'm going to spend any money on anything, I want it to work as it was originally intended. A good buddy of mine has a ham license, and I'm sure he'd like to play with it a bit too. Think I'm leaning towards the RT-524 for...
What should be done to properly maintain the canvas that used on these trucks? I have a '53 Reo Gasser with a canvass cargo top. It's on all the time, and the sun just cooks it. Is there any products (Similar to armorall for tires for instance) that can be applied or used to help extend the...
If you were going to purchase a radio, which one of these two would you prefer, and if possible a brief description of why? Also, would you add a VIC-1 Intercom system as well?
I'm in the market to get a radio to fit in my rack below my passenger seat and am not sure which way to go. If there...
I like it a lot! Looks wicked cool for my standards! Do have a question, being new and all to this stuff... What's that device on the front wheel shown in pic DSC_0131 (Small).JPG? Just curious. Looks like a remote tire pressure filler of some kind?!?! How does it work? And finally, just...
RE: Here
There are two pumps on this truck. (1) is on the drivers side of the engine block - mechanical. The other, is a cheapy 12 v pump that was installed on top of the fuel tank, which looks terrible by my standards. If that fuel filter is not original, that I'll probably try to locate a...
Here's a couple pic's...
Hopefully this will shed some light on the subject. Shown below are some pics that I took today of the engine. Note the oil filler on top of the intake and all the oil on the valve cover. Also, can anyone identify the blue fuel filter canister on the fender well and...
