I read the articles etc and its informative, and does list some valid concerns. The problem however, with the DF-21D is basically that its course correction abilities are "limited" to a certain degree that it seriously hampers the ability for the missile to actually carry that many warheads due...
peashooter, such a claim is a bold one. I am pretty certain there are already countermeasures against it. And ANY MRBM is pretty much ****ing for any ship it hits.
That something is built in Mil-Spec is not guarantee that is better then normal OEM or Off the shelf stuff that we can get as regular civilians. That it is "Mil-Spec" just means that it was made to comply with a set of specifications put forth by the military, specifications that can both be...
I must have had my head in the ground since I joined :P. I am constantly amazed at the places people seem to be from on here, and I mean that in a good way, ie that a hobby such as this can unite us across borders, and such :). But nice shots USSR and a pleasure to "meet" you :)
If I am reading that legal document right, then you HAVE TO show the plates fixed on the truck IF the truck is provisioned for it. Since your truck is set up for "flying tags" then you are now legally required to do so. It is those trucks that havent been previously prepared to fly tags that are...
Oh, I don't think we have ever used those to be honest. But I dont know. These days we are actually using the "game" SteelBeats as the training simulator for the Leopard 2's for driver, gunner etc training on them with multiple computers linked together in a network so what we can simulate an...
We actually don't have any active L1's anymore. They have all been decommissioned and is only rolled out for an annual armour display in the Army proving grounds, following a very rigorous trial and test schedule by the weapon mechanics which starts 1-2 weeks before the actual demo. But have you...
Personally it would annoy the **** out of me everytime I had to start it. Same with the mandatory audible reverse sound. But I would venture as far as permanently disable the buzzer, but more so build in a "trigger" that disables it for 5-10 mins when I start the truck so that it is silent while...
It "might" get you out provided you don't drain your batteries before you are out of the water etc. I mean electrical winches has their merits, but its not for fun and games when people that are using their winches in a professional and regular capacity tend to favour Hydraulics over electrics...
I can understand the demilling requirements, but when said requirements makes the vehicle even more dangerous to drive it stops making sense. I think I read about someone on here that had to have his armoured vehicle demilled to such a state that the barrel stabilizers didn't work anymore so the...
Picket line?. And I must admit that when ever i get a truck/car/whatever with a winch I will make sure to carry a bundle of snatchblocks and various things to be used as ground anchors :). Because with enough snatch blocks and enough line any winch can technically recover any vehicle, its just...
So a spooled differential can be compared to a T with the input axle delivering power to both axles simultaniously but without either axle being able to "over run" or run at a mismatched speed?
Im still a fan of hydraulic over electric anytime. Just down to the fact that you can't really burn it out like you can with an electric winch. And that there is no limitations on how "hard" you can run it or how many times a day you can run it without having it cool down.
Vertical lifting can potentially add more weight to the effort required ie the difference between dragging a 65T tank along a road, or lifting it off the road and carrying it etc.
Which is correct, if you are trying to pull something straight "along" a level surface it will always require less work, than if you are trying to pull up an incline since you will have gravity working against you as well if that makes sense?
