Comparing the HMMWV to the JLTV is like comparing a P51 Mustang to an F16, this writer is an idiot.
Maybe this clod would rather we kept the Jeep around ? That would have been perfect in Iraq, as if somehow in WW2, Korea and Vietnam there was absolutely no MOUT going on, no IED’s…or as they...
because it was replaced at the unit level by some pvt who needed the truck to work, it doesn’t affect the operation of the truck to have the enclosure not bolted down, not the first I’ve seen nor the last.
There are 2 mounting variants Based on what truck they are installed into…the box is the same, it’s the brackets or feet that determine
the truck,M1123/1097A2’s get the brackets, the brackets had studs that passed through the floor, the turbo uses the tabs and attaches via rivnuts.
to be fair…we’ve been exporting long before HMMWV’s were sold by GP.
The No.1 exporter of hmmwv who “actually does the paperwork for customs clearance” is Steve Kopito at Owens Export.
Steve has been exporting for over 30yrs
ok, this pertains to custom tubes in custom cars and trucks, our trucks are OEM and all turbo trucks use the same tube and stick, as does the A2, as does the 3 speed th400 use there own specific OEM parts, no calibration is required…
Being I export to Germany often, I can tell you…you are screwed, your govt is effectively the state of California. They are in fact Subject matter experts in Hmmwv’s. You are relegated to M998 3 speeds from 85-94 and in line with the internet published mfg SN ranges that I shared about 10yrs ago.
Calibrate the dip stick? Not accurate?
I service maybe 2 Transmissions per week…all turbo and NA 4 speed trucks, never has a transmission taken 4 gallons of ATF.
it takes quite a bit of time to fill properly, it cannot be rushed, you get a false reading on the dipstick from fluid still in in the...
2005 is the latest model A2 ive seen…it was in my unit at Travis AFB, as a matter of fact, it was not only an A2 NA, it had ECV OEM 4 man A/C installed from the factory.
Ummmm, just because a lot of trucks sell from Calif don’t mean that Calif is saturated with trucks, it’s an auction location, only a fraction of what’s sold is CA bound. There are only 2 locations selling turbo trucks…and Albany is quite sparse.
An A2 truck is no more difficult to work on than a...
Those are all free excess inventory, almost every hmmwv I’ve seen are USMC…think GovPlanet.
GP purchases Most of its USMC rolling stock as part of the “Exchange program” meaning…they pay about $2500 per truck regardless.
performing BDA is nothing new…it’s done in every war.
Not sure why you think it’s an “upgrade“, and IMO it’s no more difficult to TS than anything else assuming you can read, follow directions from the TM and work a DVOM.
But if you must…you need to buy the applicable harness for said upgrade from Mike over at Blackdog customs.
And no…you don’t...
Get caught? By whom? No one is going to some 3rd world African nation to find these people, even our FBI can’t catch those responsible for
millions and millions of dollars stolen from little old ladies as well as men and woman on dating websites looking for their next ex-wife or Husband .
