4 conductor 6awg is sufficient for the 120v load as you will never exceed 52 amps on a single leg. Only way you'd need a larger cable is if you were running it a great distance and needed to account for voltage drop.
My 1040 hammer price was $5500. I ended up with $6800 in it after tax tags, title, fuel to go pick it up, filters, new fluids, and two new batteries. Can't really complain about that given the price of a comparable civi version these days.
If you look at the picture of that unit that shows the analog hour meter, it seems to have water inside of it as well. I wonder if these units were in a flood?
Hopefully you can dry her out, change some fluids and she'll make electricity.
And don't forget to flip that little pull tag back down after you burp the system......if you don't and then run it for an hour or so it'll push coolant out the reservoir cap and drain hose......ask me how I know!

Which model comfort zone do you have? The reviews on Amazon are not exactly stellar, so I want to make sure I get the correct one. The wife doesn't want to have to make me brownies once a month when I run her dual ovens load banking my "big green toy box thing" once a month......
It’s definitely something in the switch. It did it again this morning and jiggling the wires on the back of the switch shut it down immediately. Gonna clean em all up and see if that helps.
Thank you!!
I've done a bit of searching on this subject, but have come up empty.
Our 917 sporadically wont shut down when the key is switched to the off position. Anyone had this happen before? It doesn't do it all the time, but every now and then it will continue to run after the key is turned off. If...
I let it charge in parallel for a day then left the noco hooked up for a week. Did this with both batteries before giving up on em. Neither would hold a charge.
Did they hold a charge? I used my noco on the two optimas in my 1040 but after sitting overnight after they were “fully charged” they would not start the genset.
But with taxes and such you'd be in it for quite a bit more than that. Then you have to add a fuel tank, enclosure, etc to be comparable to a TQG.
I agree that the auction prices are out of control, but so are the prices on "off the shelf" commercial sets.
Morning gents
I tried searching the forums for an answer to this query, but came up empty handed (probably due to my own ignorance)
Anyways, has anyone found and installed an aftermarket replacement for the tach/speedo in the 917 (or any 920 series)? My original Argo has not worked in some...
So, any of you fine folks pick up this little guy today? Only the second one sold on GP. Wonder if they’re gonna start hitting the market more frequently?
